Molly had the GREAT idea to send some N4M love to some of our military that are "hurting".
I am going to say that July 12 is the "birthday" of this endeavor. July 13 it got named!!
"M.A.S. Special Hugs" - M.A.S. - for Molly's Adopt a Sailor!!!

From Molly: Hey Moms ---- we are having some wounded guys coming our way. Would you like to make a thread and those who would like to send a card or messages to our wounded ones.

If you know of someone in the military "hurting" and needing a "special hug" - PM me (Brenda Sue) the address and I'll post it in our "special place." I do ask that you keep us updated on the condition or change of address of anyone that has a lingering need.

OK - Mom's let's get this ball on the roll!!

I am going to keep these names in one place - so people don't have to read through hundreds of pages to find them. Go to MAS We Ship Love (Click Here) for the addresses. This is a private group - just ask to be a member and after you have been "checked out" - the powers that be accept you!

Please use the labels designed in the "Shipping Labels" discussion so they will be easily recognized!!

You can either print these on stickers or just tape them to the envelopes. If neither is possible, just write Molly's Adopt a Sailor on the envelope - so they know where they are coming from.

Card went out today...
I've updated any addresses that I have been notified about. I've gone back to some of the original people and asked for updates. Some I have heard from and some not yet!!

Let's send them Christmas Cards!! Especially the two Marines that were just added. One of them lost both legs in Afghanistan.
Staci, I just watched that clip on Brendan. Oh my, I have a BIL who lost his leg due to unhealthy lifestyle choices. I will email that clip to him.

OKay, today, pcs going to Brendan, Joshua and Cory. Thanks for posting Brenda Sue. I will post pictures later.

and can you email me that picture you posted a couple of weeks ago of the soldier with the pillow and gun? I am going to followup on that group. Thank you!
Yes, but I am at work and I can't access those pictures from here - They are on my home computer. I'll do it when I get home. If I don't this weekend, please remind me!
Josh Sweeney is moving again, this time to the Fisher house in San Antonio. As soon as I get home I will post his latest address and update on his injuries. Poor kiddo is in bad shape but they say his spirits are high. Just gotta love em!
Fisher House in San Antonio (I'm familiar with it) is a home-away-from home for the families so I would think he'd still be at Brooke? I sent cards today also..
I mailed pillowcases, and cards to Cory, Josh and Brendan. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Brenda Sue, thanks for doing that. I am from WI so want to follow up on that unit.
I only have the picture saved. The words I got that day were from navy.mil
I have not had time to hunt for it - but you might can.

I bet those guys will be excited to have a touch of home with some mother's love attached.
HI Brenda Sue I got the picture and words over to the HAE page. 2 different moms are working on finding out about them. We all think he needs a pillowcase.

thanks for posting and your help.
Here is the update on Josh I received today from a friend:

This morning I spoke with Josh's mom and they are now at Brooke's Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. Josh may be getting out of the hospital today or tomorrow and will be staying at the Fisher House, San Antonio. I have included what the Fisher House is, below, but there it will not be a hospital setting and just steps away from the The Center for the Intrepid, while doing therapy at The Center for the Intrepid. He will be there about 18 months. Mom said that because of the amount of leg loss with Josh, one right above the knee and the other at the hip, there have been complications. There is much to be done and a lot of healing and when the healing begins and Infections cleared up, then they will look at fitting him with legs. This young man has a lot ahead of him. His mom said the doctors and nurses are amazed at how high his spirits are. Well he is a Marine. The address for Josh is:

Fisher House Bldg:4
Beresford/Sweeney Rm: 411 Building 3623
George C. Beach Rd.
Fort Sam HoustonTX 78234-5000

This is a very special season with a lot of joy and merriment, and lets all keep this brave young hero and his family in our prayers, they are being answered. I am sure in the coming days, weeks, months and year that cards and/or packages will be very much appreciated.
Just to let him know he is in many prayers!

What is Fisher House?Fisher House is a home-away-from- home for the families of seriously ill or injured patients receiving treatment at Wilford Hall Medical Centera major Air Force medical facility.
Who donated Fisher House? Two enthusiastic supporters of the U.S. military--Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher--donated Fisher House. Pediatric outpatients and their families are accommodated at the Inn for Childrenother outpatients and their families may be accommodated at the other Fisher Houses on a space-available basis. How much does it cost?Families who meet the eligibility criteria and are accepted as guests stay without cost. There is never a charge for lodgingfood or services.
Fisher House is such a blessing for these families... most are far from home and their support network! Both Ross and Chris had family staying at the Fisher House here in Seattle... It is just across the parking lot from the VA hospital here. Was wonderful for them to take a 'field trip' to when they were able to get out of the hospital for a couple of hours. In addition it is a blessing for these families whose lives are turned upside down! If you ever have the chance consider giving your local Fisher House a call and taking a big batch of cookies by or ask if you can stop in and help cook a meal!
Jenny, I assume that they will forward his mail? I mailed to the 1st address. Would you give his mom a "heads up" that mail is coming? Thanks,.

Brenda, I will look that up. If I can't find it, will you still email me the picture? I have to bake 10 dozen chocolate pillow cookies this morning, so won't have time and I best get to it.
