Got a call from my son yesterday he was in tears. He went to get his xrays for his teeth. He needs wisdom teeth taken out. That would not be to big of a deal. But they told him they found a quarter size dark spot on his xray on his jaw and it could be worst case cancer. They are not going to do anything till next week. That leaves him and me worried sick for the week. I told him it probably was nothing and not to worry to much. Please everyone pray for my son..

Why in the world would they tell him that?? I would just wait until you know for sure. The chances are it is nothing. One x-ray with a dark spot is no way to diagnois cancer. They probably just decided to give him the worse case senerio, and one cannot help but focus on that! I am not going to tell you not to worry, that is what mom's do, but what do you feel in your gut (mommy-radar)? Sometimes your gut tells you if there ius really a problem. You told him the right thing, so listen to your own advice (I know, it's hard). Prayers for you and yours!
I don't know why they would tell him that. Maybe just a mental game?? My radar says it's nothing to worry about. But of course we both still worry.. Thanks for the prayers...
My take on why they would tell him (as I sat back and thought about it), I think they just gave him the worse case scenerio. He is an adult now, so they are treating him as such, as hard as that is for you Mom. I do not think it is a mental game, although it sure will impact him! Keep us psoted.
I got a letter from my son and he said they drilled a hole in his chin and he should have gotten the results yesterday. No call from anyone must mean all is well. Thanks to everyone for the prayers
I am sure it's probably nothing. We will keep him in our prayers. I am sure he is scared with the whole BC thing on top of it all. God Bless you all.
Please...don't panic yet. I was a Registered Dental Assistant for twelve years. Many times you find dark shadows in the dental x-rays. 99% of the time they are sinus cavitites or an abscess. Mostly due to root canal needs. I will pray for a good outcome none the less. Try to rest your mind until they find out for sure. I can't believe they said that to your Son. What an ordeal. Take care.
If you can share his first name, I'll put him on a prayer list.
Emmett's Mom
Lisapizza, Thank you so much. I missed his call on Thursday. He said on my voicemail that he was worried because he was getting results on Friday and his paperwork said something about more work being done. So maybe he needs a root canal or something. They never called again after results. I am praying I have a letter in my mail box today when I get home..

Emmetts mom his first name is Christopher.

Everyone else thanks for your support..
I am praying for your Christopher as well as for you. Hang in there and please keep us posted on how both of you are doing!
Thanks and I will
Hey, Clarissa. Any updates on your son? I am praying for you and him. It's so hard to be so far away. We moms want to fix it! And we can't because they are there and we are at home trying not to worry, especially when something upsets them. Please keep us posted!
I got a letter finally yesterday. He had a dental appointment and they told him no results till the 24th but not to worry because there was blood so that usually means it is not a tumor. He sounds great... I have so much relief.. Thanks to everyone for everything.. Graduation is still on for 2-26
