I need advice on least expensive but decent hotel for 8/1 PIR

I have been researching on my own but I am so lost on where to stay or not!! Our money is very limited so I am looking for a decent place but not one with bugs, bad smells , etc!! I know I am asking for alot but there has to be a place like this close to the naval base.

Navy Lodge.. Close to base clean comfortable not super fancy but nice $62 and No Taxes ...here is the website....https://www.nexnet.nexweb.org/pls/nexlodge/lodge_page?p_lodge_number=5 Hope that helps.
We stayed at the Navy Lodge and we really enjoyed it.It is pretty close to the base and the People there were so nice and friendly. Lots of advise and directions to where we wanted to go. I am glad we chose to stay there. Our room was decent and we had lots of hot water , nice bathroom .We had a fridge and a microwave and a coffee pot.LOL BUt they keep coffee going 24/7 down in the lounge area thats free. Anyhow check around and good luck and God Bless
We are also on a budget....mostly cause we have to drive 12+ hrs to get to Great Lakes....We are going to PIR on 8-1 as well....we chose to stay at Navy Lodge...they don't have a pool but the savings over the next cheapest (decent) hotel was about 250.00 for 4 nights.....(4 nights was 248$ no tax!)....and it is supposed to be very close to base.....We decided the extra money would be better spent on something fun....hopefull we made the right decision....
The Navy Lodge is the least expensive my husband and I found also we will be staying there for our son's PIR date 7/25/08...
You might try to find something online about the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Gurnee. I remember reading on here that it was fairly cheap and also clean with comfy beds.
We have reservations at the Homewood Suites in Linclonshire. We got a 1 bedroom 1bath, livingroom has pull out couch. 99/night.
Susan,
Let me know how the Homewood is. I booked the 2 bedroom suite and hope it is all worth the price. When is your PIR...I would put a question mark at the end of that question but I think my grandson messed up the keyboar. We will be up there on August 1.
Have a good time and enjoy the time with your sailor.
The Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire is well worth EVERY penny. We too had the 2 bdr suite and it was wonderful. There were 6 of us plus our sailor and there was plenty of room. The 2 bathrooms was a blessing as well. You will not be sorry if you pay a little more to stay at this hotel...
As of now, there is only 4 adults and 1 baby. Might end up 5 adults...if we can figure out how to pack the vehicle with everyone's stuff. Thanks for letting me know how the suites are. Glad I reserved one.
Do you recall if they had a sleeper sofa included-or just the beds?
Thanks,
Pennie
I booked a 1 bdrm @ homewood for PIR 8/01, it has 2 beds and a pull out couch. There are 4 or5 of us so I figured that was good enough.
Lois
pennie, We will be there August 1st also. Do you know if we are having a get together Thursday before PIR?
Just posted a comment on your page. Are you staying at the Homewood also? I assumed you were when I made my post.
