My fiance is in class 14-10. I got to talk to him for about 5 minutes last night and he's already lost his voice! They have to yell everything at the top of their lungs! I'm in the Navy also and I'm so used to being the one who leaves! I'm the one who has to tell everyone else not to worry, so its really weird being on the other side of it!

Hey all!

This might be a weird question, but do any of you know if my fiance is supposed to wear his dress whites or something else to our wedding? Trying to think about tuxes...

Thanks!
Assuming he will graduate, haha.
Hey can wear his dress whites if he wants to, but its not required.

I'm sure he will graduate!!!
Thank you! Your LO will too!
I would be so proud to see my son wear his dress uniform for his wedding! Hope yours chooses to do so!
Hi!

I am quite certain he is going to. I just wanted to be sure that dress whites are okay or if he maybe needed to wear the blues (or if they are black???). I thought the dress whites would look really great though. Thank you for your input!

Lindsay
They look black but are a really dark blue, they look awesome in them. My son tried his dress white coat on for us and that also is quite a site! Either will look great at your wedding!
Hi TawnyA, my LO just got rolled from 13-10, to class up with 14-10 in week 3. You'll hardly hear anything the first 2-3 weeks. Remember, no news is good news. I got a short email on the first after arrival, when they set up their military email. Then I got a 5 minute phone call on the Sunday when they started week 3. So hang in there; after week 4, they'll probably call every Sunday. Hope this helps.
As of now I'm planning on flying into Boston which is about 90 minutes from Newport. For 4 tickets its way less! I want to get there on Wed so I don't miss any of Thurs or Fri's events. I'll be renting a car, so if you or anyone else needs a ride once you get there let me know! I know it's still quite a ways off and this is assuming my LO doesn't get rolled!
I'm not sure where I'm staying yet, but May 7 is the grad date if they don't roll.

Thurs is the PIR (Pass in Review, sometimes called Parade in Review) and Hi Moms dinner.

Fri. Grad run and graduation

The best thing you can do for info is go through and read the discussions from the older classes. Each class is 2 weeks apart, so 13-10 is 2 weeks ahead of us. I think 10-10 is the one that just graduated or will be graduating this weekend.
There's a Cozy Cab at the Providence airport which only charges $25 to the base entrance. I was told by the moms in 13-10 that they're the most reasonable.
One thought on dress whites vs dress blues - I do think it depends on the season of the year. In the summer the OCS graduations are in dress whites. So, for a wedding, they would wear the dress uniform of the season, I think.....
