My fiance is in class 14-10. I got to talk to him for about 5 minutes last night and he's already lost his voice! They have to yell everything at the top of their lungs! I'm in the Navy also and I'm so used to being the one who leaves! I'm the one who has to tell everyone else not to worry, so its really weird being on the other side of it!

My LO said don't write too but I've written about 15 letters so he'll get at least one a day. Send news articles, pictures, just nothing in envelope like confetti, sparkles, etc. that will fall out. No food. Plain white envelope. Write lots--it helps your LO and you.
Hey Navyboyfriend, glad to here Char classed up. Keep us up on how you all are doing.
You got it!
I think so too! When my LO first started writing it took forever to get to me. I remember one letter taking 10 days to get to me. After about 4 weeks my mail started coming in a little more regularly. :) I do know that the mail gets to them pretty regularly barring any crazy weather (snow) occurring.
1st and 15th unless it falls on the weekend or holiday, then depending on your bank it will post the Fri or Sat prior.
Hi everyone, my LO, who had been in H because of 13-10's RLP, called today to say he'll class up with 14-10 tonight. It's strange, because usually they class them up at the point where they left off. It will suck that he'll have to undergo all the stuff in weeks 2&3 again. He's mentally and physically strong, so he knows they're mind games, but I guess as a mom I feel bad. But then again, he'll be with a class, advancing.
That is great news for your son! At least week two is almost over which is a good way to look at it.
I bet they class them up this early so they'll have time to prepare for RLP. I understand it takes more than a day or two. His experience with RLP will also let him help others. TEAMWORK is paramount!
I think they do that so they can get to know and bond with the folks they will go through RLP with--since it is all such a team mentality.
Okay, my son is in the same boat (so to speak). He left a message on the answering machine that I couldn't quite understand, but I guess that is what he meant. James is the same, he knows it is all mind games, and he aimes to win.
What happened in week 2 and 3 ? I'd sure feel better knowing what's happening if he told you.
In weeks 2 & 3 they still get "beaten" by the DI, go through some of the worst time in OCS, do lots of phyiscal stuff, get very little rest, no fruits or vegetables except potatoes at dinner,no phone calls and most don't get to write home. But then again, having been through it already, he knows what to expect. I'll be sure to tell him to make sure he and others who classed up do help the new ones. He has the teamwork spirit, so there's no doubt that they'll help each other.
