Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

For all who are attending graduation on the 16th of April, Ramada holds a "Navy Family Meet & Greet Reception with free drink and hor d'oeuvres. This is held on thursday the 15th of April from 6pm til 8pm. All are welcome even if you are not staying at the Hotel. Incase you are interested in attending I have included the address and number.

My husband is in the same situation. I hope to find out more when we talk on the phone, I will keep you posted.
My son is in ship 04 div 161. We haven't recieved any letters or a call yet. We book rooms at the residence inn, looking foreward to see everyone either at a meet and greet or at the PIR. And yes I'm a dad, but I jpoined here as well , the more info I can gather the better I say. Good luck and God bless all "rickies"(recruits).
Welcome Hank! We are still waiting for a letter or phone call from our son. This is a great place to come for information. It helps to know that we are not the only families going through this.
It is good to hear from you Hank and welcome to the group .... me specifically, one of the whiner's in the group... ha! It is hard not getting the calls or the letters, but not so bad when other parents are in the same boat. We shall survive this, but it helps to have support. We will have smiles on at the Meet and Greet!

In two weeks we will all be at the meet and greet. I must say I cannot wait to meet all of you wonderful Moms and Dads. Sharing with everyone has been wonderful and helped me keep my sanity. Thank You!
