OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The Navy is very overmanned right now so they're not going to take anyone with such a low ASVAB score. You need to do some heavy duty studying to bring your score up to at least 70 before they'll even give you a look. Nowadays you just can't get in because you want to. Sorry.

Thanks I've been studying I'm able to retake the test may 23rd. However I went to meps yesterday and they told me that april 1 they might have a job for me. Someone that I know got in with a 35 on Monday I gues
s I just go on the wrong days.

My son got his contract a few weeks ago and he had a 35 on his ASVAB. He tested 4 times to get a 35. He was told because the Navy has sooo many people wanting in right now that they could get him a contract but not to be picky and refuse any opening they offered him. If he refused they may not be able to get him another spot for several months, if at all. He lucked out and was able to get a contract for the Seabee's (one of his personal top choices).So it is possible to get a contract with a lower score but you would have to go where the Navy needs you. If you retest you may have more options available to you but that's not a guarantee with the over staffing situation. My advice is study , study and study some more if you choose to retest, it really does help. Good luck in your future - Thank you wanting to serve your country.

The lower you score the less options they have for you. Your best bet would be to study your butt off like Chris A said, so you'll have a wider variety of job options available. The more options available the more likely it will be that some of those jobs are open.

Go to Amazon and get the ASVAB for dummies and a few others and study study study. You really want to get as high as you can so you have more job options open to you, otherwise while you "may" get in with a score that low, you may have a long wait because you are limited job wise with that score.Military.com also has some free online practice tests. I'd keep taking those so you are familiar with the questions.

Byron, why can't they use the 46? Sounds like the subsequent times when you took the test, you were stressed out. The more nervous you are, the worst you'll do. The 46 w/o preparation is decent, isn't it? Do you know where you are weak? Maybe just boned up/get some tutoring in that area only. Emphasize areas where u are good.

QM is a good rate, you will learn a lot of skills that are fairly rare in today's world. Another + is you will spend a lot of time on the ship's bridge where a lot of the action is. Of course, that also means you will be spending a lot of time around the CO, XO, and senior officers so mind your Ps and Qs, always look sharp and treat everyone with the respect you would like to be treated with and you will do fine.
