My fiance is in class 14-10. I got to talk to him for about 5 minutes last night and he's already lost his voice! They have to yell everything at the top of their lungs! I'm in the Navy also and I'm so used to being the one who leaves! I'm the one who has to tell everyone else not to worry, so its really weird being on the other side of it!

Hi everyone, I was just reading a discussion post on NavyDads.com about our LO's and us "playing by the book" I couldn't agree more. My girlfriend has stressed to me multiple times that its so frustrating when people don't follow the rules because everyone ends up paying. I know it might seem petty that we can't do or say this online or we really want them to E-mail us.... but it's making us and our LO's practice for the Navy when it can really become a matter of life and death. I would really recommend checking out his post. Hope you all are doing well and wish you and your LO's the best of luck this week!

I wanted to say hi to everyone in 14-10 and hope everything is going well. I pray everyone passed ORLP and the academics part of this journey is going well. Just a few more weeks and CANDIO will be the word of the day!!
Hey Sue! All but one passed ORLP. It's really sad, no one saw it coming! Everyone has passed the first set of exams, YAY!!! 3 more mid terms this week. We're all really excited about them being candio's. They're observing 13-10 today, learning the ropes so they can take over in a few weeks! It's amazing how fast time is going by now!
do they get a second chance with their ORLP?
They had two chances--Wednesday and then re-inspect Friday. One roll.
is it the same as RLP?
ORLP is done by an Officer rather than the DI's. If I remember correctly it is in their Khaki uniforms. I know my LO said the littlest thread IP's in your belt loops can cause points. They are also questioned on their gauge that they have been memorizing.
oh, ok thanks! I knew that it was something done a little later on , but wasn't sure of the difference.
I know my son's ORLP - the officer turned out the band on the inside of his cover - lint! Attention to detail is the name of the game! But he had learned the hard lesson during RLP and prepared as well as he could!
Actually 2 rolled unfortunately.
I saw that on the Facebook OCS... 1 rolled because of ORLP and 1 for 'other reasons'... probably medical is my guess
Has anyone heard anything about the flooding in RI? I had a nightmare about flooding last night, then this AM saw news about flooding there. Now I am worried.
