Erin My Son is,but I don't know his PIR date yet.and I haven't gotten the form letter.either
Erin my daughter is on ship 6 div 927 and scheduled to graduate BC 5/21. . . . . . I am so looking forward to the 21st of May and also to my first phone call. This is not her first time away from home, she has attended two different colleges in two different states so I'm used to her not being home with us, but this time it feels very different and so permanent. At least when she was in college I knew I would see her for spring/winter breaks. I don't know about you but this is my first experience with anything military and my youngest daughter who will graduate from HS in May is planning on joining as well. At least for with her I'll have little bit of experience.
My daughter just arrived yesterday March 30th.....How is your son doing? Have you heard from him yet? I am anxiously awaiting although I hear that communication could take several weeks. I am writing every day.......I will send the letters once I get her complete address.

Hope that all is well... and I look forward to the journey with you.

Yes my son also started boot camp 3/24 and he is my first child to inlist. Got his box of clothes on tuesday, but no letter or note. When can I expect some correspondence?
I received my son's box on Monday and I received the form letter today, Thursday. He made it to boot camp on the night of the 23rd. ship 14 div. 189, PIR 5-21.

My son arrived 3/24 as well. Glad I'm not the only one without an address. Recruiter assured me it will come. He did say it comes from the Navy and not my son, so perhaps it takes awhile. Seems to me simply a flyer inside the infamous box would be an efficient way to give us Mums the much wanted address! :D
Hi Nan Our son also went in on 3/24, and we got his clothes on Tuesday and our graduation letter today. He is graduation on May 14th! He is in Ship 04, Div 811. He was able to write a brief note on the bottom of it, which was great. Good luck, Brenda
Hi Brenda,

If I may ask, what part of the US do you live in? East, Central or West. Just trying to get a bead on when I might get my [precious] letter.

Thank you!
Cynthia
PS-My son's arrival date is the same as yours.
Dear Cynthia,
We are from the Lebanon, NH area. Where are you from?
Brenda
Hi Brenda,

Perhaps that explains it... I'm on the other side of the country, Portland, Oregon. I'm wondering if families on the east coast, mid-west, etc. receive their mail a few days earlier than the west coast. I guess that's a question for the USPS.

Cynthia
Hi Cynthia, We got the box by Fed-X and then two days letter we got a form letter with his PIR date, and a shore three line note from him. Do you know what Div. and boat your son is in?
Brenda
My son started on 3/24 as well. Finally got his address so I can write! Graduation date is 5/21, so I can make some flight plans. Can't wait to see him... Ship 14 Div 189
