Hey everyone, I was wondering about Power of Attorney.  My husband and I were going to get that done before he left for boot camp, but we ran out of time before he left so we didn't get it done. Of course....

So I was just wondering.. I read on here about "Navy Legal".. what is that? Or.. where is it? Because my husband today is starting his fourth week in boot camp.. I will be leaving with him with our kids to Charleston once he graduates.. (not sure if he's a grad and go... Recruiter told me that he ISN'T.).. So I was just wondering if there's a way my husband can get that done without me? Or while he's in bootcamp? I heard that he flies to Charleston to do paperwork and other things, will he be able to get it done on that day as well?

Kristen,
I don't know if he will be able to get it done while in boot camp but I do know that you do not need to be present. I picked up a set of POA's from my local office supply store, filled it out with my son, then went to a UPS store and had it notarized. Worse comes to worse maybe you could do the same if you are able to go to his PIR. Hopefully one of the navy personel who are part of this site will be able to give you the info about getting a POA throught the Navy.
Ok! thanks a lot!
