For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My nephew arrived at boot camp on march 23 also he is on ship 14 division 189. Its nice to meet people on here. I'm on here to support my nephew.

Wow, same here only my only child and daughter leaves end of April. Rollercoaster of emotions? YES!!! When will the feeling of loss end? --tend to think the Navy has her and I'll never see her again...well, maybe after several years?? this is all so new to me so I cry a lot. any suggestions? :)

Hi Pat, I know how you feel. My oldest, after being away at college for 4 years joined last summer (June). I was so happy to have her home and then she went and did this. She left for boot camp on 3/24 and them taking forever to ship her out didn't help because it was just so nice to have her home. Like you I now feel like she is gone for good. This is such a difference from her going off to college. I know that in the end it will be a good thing so I'm going to look forward to graduation and also pray for a great future for her. Who knows where this experience will take them and thats the only thing that gets me through.

Hi,My oldest son also joined after graduating college, It was really nice to have him home for a year to re connect with his brothers and sisters. I'm really looking forward to graduation. My son left for boot camp on March 23. We got a call @ Midnight to say he was there. Than another call that I missed.

My daughter just got to boot camp on Tuesday as well, like proudmommy I got the call about 8:30pm.

My son also arrived at Great Lakes on 3/24. I got his call about 10:30 PM our time in the PNW. He sounded really tired, and he had so many hours left to go. I got, you will be getting a box in about two weeks with my stuff in it, then a phone call in three weeks, and I love you, gotta go. I was excited and upset all at the same time. We knew what it was going to be like by talking about it, but when it actually happens, it kind of takes you by surprise. His recruiter was great, I had his mailing address by Thursday. They told us write, write and write to those recruits. If I understand it right, they are allowed to write home on the day of rest, which is Sunday. They have the choice of going to church or writing home. I am sure mine will be writing home.

my son arrived the 22nd with my 10:30 phone call as well, i got my box on thursday and wow what a day, i still havent washed his clothes and the box is right by my bed. i look over in it and see his jeans, today is the first day i have onlly cried once, im so proud of myself....i think this was harder than being in labor with him....i cant wait to get his letter...my sons name is Aaron Christmas, maybe our boys are together....

My daughter arrived on 3/24. That phone call was hard. I was actually in her bed room looking around and facing reality that she was really gone when my husband called me to the phone. I've only received one letter so far from her but did get the letter from the Navy about graduation. The box, yeah that was hard and a little eerie. Like most I knew it was coming, even before the phone call but it was still strange. I can't wait until graduation. I miss my daughter. Heck I can't wait for that first phone call...

Yes! Oh this is such a great site! Hello everyone. My daughter just got to Great Lakes on either the evening of the 23rd or the morning of the 24th. I heard from her last at the airport, so I'm not sure what else has happened since then. I've been waiting for a call, but nothing to say she got there alright. I am eager to get the address so I can mail her some letters.

My husband got to Great Lakes on Tuesday (3/24). I got the "I've arrived" call around 8:30 just like proudmommy. He discussed everything with me before he left, but I'm new to this whole thing and don't have a clue. I got his address from his recruiter. This may sound dumb, but if someone could tell me if I'm right about his division and ship... by looking at his address I assume its DIV 189, Ship 14. I'm unclear as to what I can post, so I don't want to write his address out, but could someone tell me if that sounds right? Thanks all!

Division and ship is fine. Here is a link to the graduation dates. Yours isn't posted, but it will more than likely be the 14 May.

This is my second time through this, and I have one more to go. I'm in Division 184. I would join the PIR 5/14/10 group.
