Hi! My son is Ship 7 Div 202!! (I think!) You're the first one I have found with the same ship and division. I'm sure with lots more to come. I had to call the recruiter for the info. Received the "kid in the box without the kid" yesterday. Not much in it. My son, Patrick, must have tossed everything else. Only returned a good leather belt and a favorite college team t-shirt. Kept what he took to boot to a minimum anyway, leaving cell phone and other stuff at home.
HI!! lol Nice to meet you Jen. Yeah, I literally only got back his shirt, jeans, sneakers, socks, and undies... my husband didn't take anything with him either. I'm sure we are both going to be comparing/sharing notes along the way about what they report back to us at home!
Good to hear from you. Hope to be talking to you soon.
Hi. I learned today my son is also on Ship 7, Div 202. Kevin. 23 (24 next month) Mailed my first letter to him today. I got 'the box' yesterday. He was going to toss some of the clothes as he thought they were not worth saving, but then all was sent back. There's still some use left in them. I suggested he not take his cell phone. I was a little skeptical about certain items really coming back. So they've been there a week now. I imagine things are a tougher this week. I watched the boot camp videos that are online. Very interesting. Perhaps in 2 more weeks we'll get a 2nd quick phone call...
Hi! My son, Patrick, is 21 years old and in Ship 7, Div 202 also. Good to see this division of Moms (or wives) begin to trickle in! Jenifer
Yeah- I am anxiously awaiting that 2nd phone call...I miss his voice! I know that they are allowed to write letters on Sunday - so I hope that they all had a chance to send something out to us this past weekend. So hopefully we'll be able to hear from them soon enoguh!
My son, James, said that he was not allowed to write this last Sunday (the 11th) but he hopes they will be able to write this coming Sunday (the 18th). This was in the "Recruit's comments" at the end of the form letter I got today. So, starting Wed, I will be watching for the mail man every day again! :-)
Yes! My son James is on Ship 7 Div 202! I got the form letter today. Their graduation is set for the same weekend as my 3rd son's high school graduation. Hopefully we can make it to both. (Dallas, TX., here) We need 3 more seats just for the immediate family (and his girlfriend) to attend graduation. Can the recruits sign up someone else's family members if they don't need all 4 seats? We also have at least 4 more (grandparents and 2 cousins) that would like to attend, but will come just to see him afterward even if they can't get in. I wish I could just text him and get this all settled so it won't hurt my stomach for the next 6 weeks or so!
Hi! I wish I could have gotten my form letter today. I run to the mailbox everyday after I see the mail lady pass by. My son, Patrick, is also Ship 7 Div 202, or so the recruiter says. What date do you have for the PIR? Is it June 4? Because that's kind of what I've been counting on. Nice to talk to you. Jen
Yes. PIR is scheduled for June 4th. Hope you will get your letter tomorrow! I didn't know James' Ship and Div until I got the letter. Ship 7 DIV 202.
Hi. I have not received the form letter either. Perhaps tomorrow....
Ann
Unfortunately, our 4 seats are taken. But, reading posts I do know that some families with 6 had no problem getting the extra seats once they were there. It sounds like they have to wait until everyone is seated and then some may have to stand.
