Hi,
My daughter also had to have her wisdom teeth pulled. I think its just to ward off any down time they could experience by getting a wisdom teeth problem later when it wouldn't be so convenient. I counted it as a blessing because of the $2300.00 bill I had from my sons wisdom teeth extraction. LOL.. They don't get put under gen. anesthetic so I'm not so sure my daughter would agree with the blessing. She stayed in the infirmary for a couple of days but now is doing good as ever. God bless =)
thanx 4 that. my other son just had his out thank the Lord we have ins. i was just confused because they had come in ok ,but he wasnt stressing about to much so i will try not to lol
Hi, my daughter left for bootcamp on april 27th and we read about them getting her wisdom teeth pulled ,but please tell me they NUMB them or something , oh my god!
The Navy doesn't want your son to be out on a ship somewhere and have wisdom teeth trouble and need an oral surgeon, so they take them out as a routine matter of precaution. They give them shots, they take out their wisdom teeth. No big deal.
thanks i guess im just use to being there when he has stuff like this done i have to keep reminding myself hes not a kid anymore lol
do they check their teeth as part of processing? mine had his wisdom teeth taken out last year. I was hoping he would go to the dentist before he leaves for a cleaning and check up but if the Navy does it that would save us a bunch of money.
yes they check their teeth, xrays etc. but i dont believe they clean them. when does he leave?
The Navy will clean his teeth, but that will come after boot camp. They did a check of my teeth, and I had fillings and a cleaning while in A school. Pretty sure it hasn't changed much since then.

There will be annual cleanings too.
My brother had his taken out during bootcamp. He said he was glad he had it done then since it didn't cost him anything. He said it wasn't a big deal...they just lined them all up in dental chairs and took them out. I think he said he had a day or two to recover after that.
So even if wisdom teeth haven't come in yet, they will remove them? I'm twenty and not a one of them has come in... haven't even tried to break the gum line...
they will xray your mouth maybe you dont have any ive heard of that happening i think they should of started breaking threw by now im not sure about that that would be up to the oral surgeon i will say a lil prayer for you that you dont have any GOD bless when are you going?
I go in March 8th. I had two guys last night in the restaurant I work at both were Navy and both said they had theirs removed in Basic, but it wasn't that bad. They shoot you up and its like they release the pressure in your mouth. So it made me feel a little bit better, but I'm still scared about it lol.
