FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

She's only in boot camp but already the support from people I have never even met before is amazing!

My husband met with a gentleman this morning who is retiring from the Navy later this year, right now has been in for 24 years! He wished my daughter luck, then as they finished up their meeting he turned to my husband and told him to give him a call when she gets to San Diego. My husband was a little taken back and asked why? He told him that he knows alot of high ranking people in the Navy in San Diego and that he can put my mind at rest by having some people watch out for her.

I have never met this man, and probably never will, but his thoughtful understanding of what it's like for me, as a mom, to worry and wonder if she's o.k., and willingness to just make a phone call to ease my mind is the most priceless gift I could get!

It does seem like there is always someone to offer support. I can be in wal-mart and see some one wearing a navy shirt and of course I always say my son has joined to Navy and a conversation will be started. I just wish I had another mom who has been through it there with me the day he leaves cause I am already a wreck. I want to be strong for him but I know I probably won't be able to keep it together. It's hard to let them go even though I am very proud of him.
Tracy, please read the message left on your profile page - just click on MY PAGE on the menu bar. The comment from has links to several groups you should join (New Moms Stop Here and Bootcamp moms). You'll find many, many moms who have been where you are and will be. You'll have lots of company. No need to feel alone.
In general, you should check you status box (Inbox & friends for messages and friend requests) and your page to see if someone left a comment on your profle - do this AFTER you have logged on.
