well thanks for the crossed fingers but Tuesday was a blowout and nothing got accomplished :( but i am not giving up i want this to happen
well i talked to my recruiter on Wednesday and he told me that they over booked the Missile tech job and it was now unavailable so that kind of irritated me after being told that the job was being held for me but he called me Thursday and told me that they were holding an IS job ( Intelligence Specialist ) for me so i now go Monday to hopefully sign a contract for that job and swear in..... has any body else had such issues getting a job or had their kids.... i mean i scored high on the asvab (85) have nothing in my background check but a couple of speeding tickets and after 4 trips to MEPs ( this Monday being my 5th) i still don't have a job....
yeah but i still don't understand why the take 17 year old high school kids with sub 50 asvab scores, and a record first as apposed to me 21 with an asvab score of 85 and a clean background check with no waivers ????
YES!!!! I got the IT rate and a 10k signing bonus plus i go into boot camp as an E-3!!!! Also i got a really early ship date June 23!!! i cant wait (my dad could cause that's his birthday)so i have alot to do in two months... not to mention i am moving back into my dads by the end of the month. But it looks like all that waiting paid off so :)
Woo hoo! Your patience and persistence has paid off! Congratulations and best wishes in your training!
Way to go John!!!! That is great news about the E3 and the bonus! Thank you for serving in our armed forces! : )
OMG! Solara, what wonderful news. Thanks for letting your N4M friends know.
CANT WAIT i leave in 3 weeks !!!!! the only thing making me nervous iss the PT tests and PT in general cause i cant pass the requirements....(i can only do 20 pushups) and if any one has advise on what to do about bills when it would be great!
I understad the hesitation on your parent's side. I, too, had quite a bit of hesitation. However, I had my son do an interest inventory/personality test --- Strong Campbell Interest Inventory and Meyers Brigg Type Indicator. The results list the top 5 job fits for interests and personality. I couldn't deny it when the number one job fit was military. The next step that I required of him was to do his research---- be able to tell my why he wanted to do this, how it would benefit him and his future, and I had him set some goals as far as completing his education. Once he was able to come back and share all of that with me-----I couldn't help but supprt his decision! It is difficult not having him here with us, but when his Facebook page continually says things like "living the dream," then I know this was the right thing for him. Good luck with your decision and with helping your family understand why this is important to you!!!!
