How do I get to your page?
What do I do if someone requests me as a friend?
This computer stuff is all new to me.
I love talking to the mothers that have responded with dates close to mine. I feel like I have help to survive this.
Am I allowed to use my real email and give it out?
can anyone help with this .
hartman: did you get my page figured out? You can send me a private message on my page with your email address and I will email you. I love technology! Hey....you WILL survive this.....we will all do it together! My son has committed for 6 yrs....but he is wanting to make a career of this. So, I am feeling there will be soooo many goodbyes in my future. sigh.
Dido.
My son signed a SEALS contract and wants to retire from navy also.
Lived through another night.
I write everyday and hit save an will print as soon as we get an address.
all you have to do is click on the person you want to see and it will bring you to their page. on your page there is a friend request and you can add people you want to be your friend.
I would look in the rules about giving out your email, maybe if you private message it it might be OK.
Hope all goes well with you.
Take care,
Hey-----I bet they will graduate together. I miss my son also. Have you started writing letters yet? I wrote a first one today. I hope you are doing ok.
I am writing everyday in my computer and hitting the print button when I get his address. I am hoping to send it out Wed. so he will get it on Sun. I add a little each day.
I have written every day also it really helps.
My last letter I told him that I stopped in at the recruiting station and it was un manned. I said that I stole everything I could that said navy on it and left a note stating that his dad (with correct name my ex) stole it and then put LOL.
Hi there! I'm Lace from Washington state and my son arrived at boot camp Tuesday night the 1st - I got the "I'm here - I'm fine" call about 11pm. Expecting "the box" with all his stuff any day now - and anxiously awaiting the first letter - I've already started to write of course - in stamped envelopes awaiting mailing. Several other mom's have commented that you can sometimes contact the recruiter and get the mailing address a bit early. I'm going to try that tomorrow and see what happens. Congrat's to you Navy Mom......
I also write everyday since he left he arrived at boot camp June 3.
I am thankful too, to have you all for my support! Thanks for being there for ME and all the upbeat words and encouragement I am receiving!
Like everyone else, I've starting writing. Michael's girlfriend is also writing, so he will be swamped with letters when he can finally receive them. The first few days were really tough, but I'm keeping busy and came to the realization that 9 weeks is one quarter in school (I'm a teacher), which usually goes incredibly fast. We're already halfway through the first week.

I know there will always be lots of goodbyes while he is in the service, but I believe boot camp is the worse. The isolation for him, and for us, is the most difficult part. At least while he is in A school and when he finally starts working, we will have opportunities to talk when we need to. When Michael finishes at Great Lakes, he will be across the country in Monterey, CA for A school, and I see that as an opportunity to travel.
My son will move on to SEAL training sometimes it is hard to wish him well and success as a seal. A nice desk job as a recruiter would suit me fine.
