Hi Pepecola, There is no dress code. I would recommend, clean, appropriate, and comfortable with what you like to wear. I'll go post more in the main discussion so everybody can read.
Sorry I'm late with my post, we got a letter this week also. He finally got sick like everyone else and he sounded miserable in his letter, he had to do the 2nd PFA with a 101 temperature but said he still passed no problems. He wrote his letter on the 20th and said they did their marlinspike the prev Thur and said they did decent on that. They did the 2nd PFA on Friday morning and then had their personal Inspection and weapons turnover which he said he scored a perfect 5.0 on both. They also did the weapons simulation on Friday and they did their zone inspections while they were at weapons simulation, he said the div as a whole did pretty bad on the zone inspections, he failed his and said the div was only 3 hits away from getting set back a week. So after that bad news is when he said his body decided to shut down and he finally decided to go to medical to get meds and thats when he fould out he had the 101 temp. He was hoping to get better before they started hell week this past week. He still has not mentioned a date for BS21, anyones SR mention a date for that yet in their letters?
lol your son writes so many more details than my husband! All I got from my letters were "I passed". Shane just got sick this past week as well and wanted to go to medical but it was closed when he got there, I hope they both get some meds to help.
Yeah Brad said after his two trips to medical he ended up with like 8 different things to take, he said he got back to his ship and went to the RDC who is a hospital corpman and said please explain all this, its too much! I think he might be having allergy issues on top of getting sick.
Hi I got a letter and Brian said the same thing about getting set back a week. He did say on one of the test that 17 people failed. I have heard that their BS21 would be July 5. Brian did not say anyhting about being sick but he did say that his mouth is still hurting a little from his wisdom teeth being pulled. I hope that Brad and Shane will get better soon, I will be praying for them. When they are so sick it isn't making this any easier for them. I guess that explains why the phone calls have stoppped!!
Ohh so glad BS21 is going to be on Mon July 5, I was soo afraid they were going to have it on Tues and we would miss the Wed call because we are flying there.
I saw somewhere that Brad is going to be stationed in Goose Creek, SC, Right? Whoo hoo!! he will absolutely love it there. I live in Columbia SC only an hour and a half away. We go down to have lunch there and drive back. It's a great place. My son is suppose to get stationed in San Diego. BooHoo!! Is that just not crazy. You are welcome to come stay at our home in SC Brad could come to Columbia and you all get sight see here. Or you could drive down to Charleston from Columbia it's not a bad ride at all. We could make it work, just an offer at least it would save on a hotel bill, especially if you got a deal on a ticket. Sometimes you can get a better deal buying a one way ticket to a major city then buying a one way ticket back. There is so much to do there and beautiful places to see. Stay in touch let me know what you think. I would love to know that my son would be stationed next to a loving family that would take him in with me being so far away!!
It is crazy how they know to station our kids the farthest possible point away from us right away isn't it...LOL My husband said he is glad Brad is not going to be in San Diego because he knows I would have him down there like every weekend visiting. San Diego is a 3 hour drive from where we are if traffic is good. Definately stay in touch and if you or your son ever need anything just let us know. You can be east coast mom and I'll be west coast mom!
I think they do choose the farthest point away...Shane and I are going to Pensacola, Florida and that is the exact opposite side of the country from where I am right now (The grandparents are not happy their grand baby will be so far away):)
Concerned over some of the post about this division having only 3 hits left to be getting set back a week this close to July 9th. I have not heard from my son and now this worries me. Does anyone know if there is truely a possibility of a set back that would mean a later graduation date?
I took it as they were only 3 hits away from failing that one inspection. I don't think that applied to the remaining things they have to complete. I wish I could say its not possible that they get set back at this point but until we get that phone call on Tues saying they are a sailor anything could happen still, I know there is a test still that they have to pass to even do BS21 then they have to pass BS21 before we will know for sure. They certainly don't make it easy on us either do they. Hang in there! They will make it thru this and we will too!
Thanks NFVMOM! Keeping them in my prayers and hanging in there.
