Yes it is awesome to hear from them. Our son is doing great and likes his new dorm and shipmates. I have been posting with a mother whos son graduates BC on 8/6 and will be staying in GL for A school also. I don't mind sharing my experience at all. Sometimes you don't know what to expect and any info can be helpful. I don't think I would have survived without the info and support from N4M.

Hi ladies, I know you are all enjoying hearing from your sailors on a regular basis now - isn't it awesome!!!! Please consider joining some future PIR groups to help new moms with questions - we all know how crazy it can be when we don't have the answers. I'm not sure how any mother would of survived without N4M.

Just talked to my son from San Antonio Texas Master of Arms A school. He said it's hot too. LOL His room mates are from his division or sister division. (237 and 238). I think that is so cool they at least have a connections from bootcamp in GL.

Heard from my daughter this morning in Wichita Falls Texas....she says "it's hot as balls Mom!" Guess she got used to that cool air in Chicago! lol And of course her address and a list of things to ship out! Nice to meet the parents that I got to meet in Chicago and thanks for all the communication before hand....

We just heard from our son with his new address and a short list of things to be sent out immediately. My daughter will mail his things in the morning. Believe me i don't care what dragon lady thinks (My boss) I support my son and other military personnel. I thank them wherever and whenever I see them. When my son told his Chief they originally were not going to give me off for graduation he told my son he would definitely take care of it. He didn't have to take care of it for me because I told them I WILL NOT BE HERE. Good Luck to your son and have a safe trip.

You never know what is going to happen when you depend on an airline to get you somewhere. If you stayed in GL you probably could have handed his personal belongings to him yourself. I feel bad that you have to go through this. I could just imagaine if I were you right now I would be fired from my job. My boss didn't even want to give me Thursday & Friday to see my son graduate. She is very anti-military. My son is going to A school in GL for Electricians mate. What will your son be studying?

wow I thought my experience flying home was bad. Not like mom2sailorsX3. We left our son at 6pm and arrived at O'Hare about 7pm Sunday night and sat in the airport until almost midnight. They had our plane on the ground outside the gate with no pilot to fly it. We finally arrived home at 4am and we had to be to work at 8am. I went in late and they sent me home to get some sleep. I was crying like a baby because I missed my son. It was like a big tease seeing him for just a few days. Anyway I am glad we were able to make the trip because it was really great to see the little changes in him. He is such a gentleman. We all have so much to be proud of. PIR was awesome.

PIR was awesome and seeing my son in his dress whites was the best! I just spoke with him this morning, he had been at the Midway airport since 3am waiting for his 9am departing flight to Pensacola~! Talk about being there early......I guess they dont take any chances on missed flights!

NW used to only put people in nice hotel chains -- but who knows now that it's Delta. Good luck, maybe you'll be able to get on something today.

Mom2sailors, sorry to hear that you are stuck in GA. When did you leave Chicago?
