Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yeah, it does take time. You just have to keep telling yourself that you can get through this. That two months will be over before you know it. That you'll be together again soon.

yeah. i have another question thoough. will he get in trouble if he getts married the weekend he graduates? we are planning on getting married in IL during his weekend liberty on graduation weekend? its something we've wanted to do and this has made us sure its what we both want. any help or suggestions or rules we should know about before we tie the knot.

He shouldn't, as long as you don't go past 50 miles of Great Lakes and he stays in uniform. It will mean more paperwork, though, and depending on where he goes for A school, you may have to wait to get your ID card, etc. But remember, he could be a grad and go, which means you may not have much time to run to the courthouse, etc. *eloped*

yeah. i am worried about him being a grad and go. but i am hoping and praying that we will get the whole weekend. :) i know it is never predictible but everyone he talked to before leaving his recruiter and master chief and all. they all said that he would most likely be going to a school in IL or FL because his job is an aecf. and they require a lot of schooling.

Actually I'm going to refer you to Hoppi she's an active duty Chief that works on the A school side of Gl....there are a few rules/regulations about new sailors getting married on PIR weekend.

I just sent her a message and she'll find you. It may be a bit but she's usually pretty quick. She's matter of fact and to the point and her info is always right on target because she knows her stuff.

yes it does. i thank you for not trying to get around the truth. i understand that they will not pay for me to move up there and i am fine paying for it. i just want to be there wiht him. but i will not continue the plans and get him in trouble but i am curious what kind of trouble will the recruits get in? both a friend and me weere planning on marrying our fiances during pir bc they left at the same time. but that is no longer an option. i am just curious. but i have another question. since you really seem to know exactly what your are talking about. what is the likelyhood his request for leave of our unborn child being approved even though we are not married.?
