your son's job sounds interesting.. really it took him a whole year to leave for boot camp my daughter signed like a month and half ago and shes already leaving which makes me so sad i don't have as much time as i thought i would have to spend with her..

but if shes happy i will have to be strong and happy for her..
My son leaves from KC on the 16th. Glad to find others who are going through the same thing we are.....

If I am reading the posts correctly, There are 4 of us that had kids ship yesterday. Catcow13 had a son ship....where are you from Catcow13?

Michelle had a son ship from St. Louis, Matehualamaria had a daughter ship from Dallas. My son shipped from KC yesterday afternoon.

How are you all holding up? We went to MEPS to see him off but did not go to the airport......I got a text and one phone call since his departure. The call was literally 12 seconds....I have a timer on my phone but he arrived fine....

Anyone else want to share?
I am from poplar grove IL. HEARD FROM MY SON TODAY AT 2:30P.M about twelve seconds also . Hi! mom I'm hear, I'm fine, I'm safe. I'll call you in about three weeks. Love you Eric...........
Hey everyone, my son did call last night they went by bus from STL and they had stopped at Cracker Barrel for one last supper of choice before going on to Bootcamp, but we where at the game and the reception was soooo bad I felt so bad for not being able to talk to him better. But he sounded in high spirits and was excited still!
Hope everyone else's kids are doing good too.
HI! everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I got my son Eric's kid in a box at 2:30pm central time. I think we got it early because we live in Illinois. Didn't find out where to write yet, we were told to call his the navy office on friday to get all that information.
Will keep in touch ladies. take care. I can't believe I didn't cry....
Hey....I didn't cry either! We must be getting better at this Navy mom thing! I still worry about silly stuff though, like is he hot, cold, tired, hungry? My husband keeps reminding me of his age and that he is a "man". Really? Seems like only yesterday he was my little "doodle bug". Oh he would hate that I revealed that!
I got an address! They are starting to settle in.....got an address from the recruiter today! YEAHH!!
I wrote 3 letters. But I don't get out much and I'm pretty boring. Colored with my grandaughter, so she could send her uncle a picture. I miss my son so bad. I pray he's o.k.. He's one of my eight children, but he was the most respected and most giving child I've ever seen. I couldn't be more proud of him ,
My son shipped out on August 16, 2010 and we received the "boy in the box" yesterday. We're supposed to get a letter with his PIR and etc. soon. His recruiter said he would call with the address within a week of his ship out date.
