For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

No my son left on 5/18 and graduated on 7/9. He is currently doing his A school at GL for Electricians mate.
If he left on 8/17 you will have to give the box and form letter a week or so to get to you. The box comes via FedEx and the form letter USPS. Our box and form letter came on 5/24 so it took 1 week for us to receive from IL and we live in NJ. Sometimes the box and letter come on different days but ours came on the same day. I know that I was very anxious the first week or two until we heard. I was so happy when we received his form letter with his address and could finally send letters.
I know its hard at home wondering how they are doing and what they are doing but when that first letter comes from your recruit you will read all about it. My son pretty much went into detail about what they have done and what they will be doing next. He even told us funny stories about some recruits doing foolish things over and over again and always getting PT'd for it. He said some just don't get it. -

My son also arrived in Chicago and I am worried about how he is doing as well. My circumstances are different, then every other mom on here I believe. My son is My fresh air son he lived with my biological son and I for years during the summer months. So you see I wont be the one to get phone calls, He promises to write, which I am pretty sure he will. He stayed with us for a week before going back to NY to pack for BC . I was wondering Charlee if you have any idea when graduation is?. I hope all went well for your daughter, on her first days of BC. and like you I miss him so very much . take care thanks for any info Celeste

My son left August 17th and we got a call on Tuesday night, very short. I was thinking the same thing we haven't got a call saying they are sending him home so he must be okay. Everyday I wake up wondering how he is doing and everynight I go to bed wondering how he is doing. It is all consuming and when people ask about him I just tear up and tell them I can't talk about it. I wonder how long this will last? I hope not his whole Navy career! Does anyone know when I can realistically call his recruiter and find out his address?

I think we all do the same, wake up and they are on our mind and when we go to bed all I can do is think of him is he okay is he having a hard time dealing with BC. Just know your not alone kate and the other moms and I are here . my son isn't even my biological son, but lived with us for years though the fresh air fund until the attacks (911) after that fateful day we lost each other until this last month he found us on Face Book. My prayers are for you and your son take care keep your chin up hopefully your letter will come soon Celeste -

Just always remember no news is good news. Hang in there mom and write lots of letters.She won't get any letters for a couple of weeks but when she gets them she'll get a whole pile if you write a lot. Send lots of pics and stuff but try to only send in plain white envelopes this gets less attention from the CO's. As far as this place goes it's a lot of help. Look for you daughters group and division and if you can't find that put in her grad date and you should find many others who's loved ones graduate then too.Good Luck and keep your cell phone with you at all times even in the bathroom lol I missed one of my calls by one minute I was not to happy. The time goes by fast and you'll be hugging your daughter before you know it.

Thanks everyone for the support, no phone call from the Navy yet, so I'm feeling better! We are just a little nervous, hoping she hasn't gotten in over her head. Thinking if we can make it until Labor Day, we can look ahead to her graduation.
