Thank you for replying so quickly. Would you provide me with a link to the Facebook page? I just joined something entitled: OCS 01-11 on Facebook. I hope it's for the Navy--I could not tell. I'm in the process of trying to feel my way around. I feel so green!

Their is a facebook page for family and friends come join us all
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as your LO's start this amazing journey. This site was my rock during the time my son was at OCS and I truly would not have made it without it. I have made some amazing friends through it also. I was taking care of a girl today that will be leaving for college (I am a banker) and looked at the mom and said I understood how much she was going to miss her daughter, and then I got all choked up remembering saying goodbye to my son when he left for OCS. That was nine months ago, so the time really does go quickly even though right now it might not seem like it. Keep those positive thoughts and remember NNIGN!
Thank you very much. I truly hope the time goes fast, he is on day 4 with meet the DI and my understanding has a new DI that nobody knows. I worry but that being a MOM. Congrats on Your Son doing OCS. Wow nine months--ha can't wait until I can say that, lol
If there is a family member in this group whose last name begins with a B and has a son who is attending Friday night services, I just want you to know that I met your son and he is doing very well. He and my son formed a friendship even though it's only been an overlap of three weeks (my son just graduated with 19- 10). We invited him to share tuna hoagies (submarines, hero - different names for sandwiches depending upon where you're from). He said he was from Ohio. I know contact is limited and just wanted you to know that he looked good, was happy to be at services and even happier to be able to eat!
I am glad to find someone else in my son's class!
