Hi all,

Still no letter and I am abit concerned about the info that the recruiter gave me for mailing.  He said the street address was 3120 Indiana Street.  When we went on-line that address didn't match any of the mailing addresses.

Has anyone gotten the form letter with the address?  Thanks, I have already mailed several letters and am hoping they find their way to him.

Hey my husbands in ship 4 div 820 hes going air rescue swimmer and i dont think they would put him down to bad. I've been there its not that bad. Have you heard from him lately?
Welcome to the group Mary Lee. My son is in the Seal program. I still have not received any letters from my son except the form letter. I mailed him a phone card today that I got at Target, it was 600 minutes for $30. Told him to call me when he can and to call his friends if he wants as long as I get calls too.
No letter here either. His girlfriend did get one and she shared abit with me. Hopefully they got a chance to write last Sunday and we will get something on Wed or Thursday.
THANKS FOR WRITING ME. I'M SURE THEY WILL HAVE MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO CALL AFTER ABOUT THE 3RD WEEK. I GOT ONE REAL QUICK CALL TO SAY 'I'M HERE' AND THE FORM LETTER. THEN LAST WEEK ONE REGULAR LETTER. I WRITE ALMOST EVERYDAY. I'M REALLY PROUD OF THESE GUYS, CAN'T WAIT FOR GRADUATION DAY!
So Kelly has the letter arrived!!? Seems we are receiving from our son on Thursdays. The last letter was upbeat and longer - were you given the 3600 Ohio St. address? That is what I was told, don't really know if our letters have reached him yet, though.
Our letters are arriving on Thursday, also. As of August 15 he had not received any of the letters that we had sent him. We were hoping for a phone call today. His letter said they were having a test this past Tuesday and an inspection this past Thursday. Guess everything is going well since we haven't heard from him yet. 3600 Ohio St. is the address that we are sending letters to.
hey debhen

My husbands in the same division...When I was in boot camp back in February we couldnt call home if our entire division didnt do well on test 1 or our inspections...we were able to call home on 2-5 day for passing inspectioins. RDC's like to call those treats for recruits and if they FFI (fail to follow instructions) sometimes they wont get mail. Hopefully they call get to call home sometime this week.
Hey Mary Lee,
Yes, I did get a short letter on Thursday. Very glad to get it and know that he is OK. He has received mail and the phone cards that we sent him (to the Indiana St address). I am sending all my mail to the OHIO street address now. Have you gone to the Navy Seal Mom Group? Some of them in there are saying that pre-buds can last up to 5 months! Both my husband and I are former Military (Army and Air Force) so we are abit familiar with the process, but the SEALS is a totally different animal! We will be staying at the Navy Lodge for graduation. Counting down the days!
We had a call from him today, so unexpected! (I hadn't been following other Mom's messages)Wow, and he sounded really good!! They sure are being kept busy! Yeah, can't wait to see our handsome guys!
Mary, if you have the military channel they have been airing Bud Class 244 it is amazing to watch these young men train. May give you ideas for pointers once he gets there-like clean your room really well ; no dust and even check the windows for salt. Shows the attitude they want you to exhibit also when you are working with a group.
I got a letter today and it was two pages long. I am in shock. He sounds good but says the hard part for him is staying awake during the downtime. He was always on the go and rarely slept for more than a few hours at a time. It was so good to hear from him. I hope others have gotten letters also.
I have been making my way around this web site, watching videos "Battle Stations 21", reading the Pre-/Bud forums, and wondering if I should pass any of this info on to my son. Will they post on this site when "Battle Stations" will be? I believe it starts at 7 pm and goes until 7 am and that when it is over we get a call from them telling us "I'm a sailor."

There was a post from a SR's mom (part of his letter) that was very humorous;" he said he was having fun at summer camp, that the counselors were VERY friendly, he was sleeping a lot, and making crafts." That is quite the sense of humor. Hope our guys are building some strong friendships and they will stay together through the next steps of their Navy life.
