Everyone says the same thing, that it is difficult to hear them and they have very limited time on the phone. I watched boot camp videos I found with a google search to give me a better idea of what they would be going thru. You may find this helpful. Having more info is better istead of guessing. I'm wondering why you were able to get his mailing address, I thought that was going to come in "the box". I still don't have an address for our son who left on the 18th. Does anyone know, should I have his mailing address by now??
I received the box, but not address inside. Should be another letter with information. Expecting this letter today or in few days.
hi! just wondering if you got the "box" from your son with the address? we never got a box, nor did we get any kind of a form letter that some of the other gals talk about. hope that's not bad news - lol - paranoia kicking in here!! the phone call that we got was on the evening of the first day he got there and we haven't heard a word since which i guess is par for the course. we did find some really enlightening links to a website that went through the entire process of the inductees. that was when i began to get worried!! if they can get through this, they can get through almost anything life throws at them after!!!
No, I didn't think they were allowed to give their address over the phone from Basic, You were very blessed to get it that early.
My son sounded very shook also. I asked him if "it" had already started, and he said yes. I felt so helpless hearing him say that. I pray for all their strength through these next trying weeks.
It is so hard knowing we can't make things easier for our boys... but it's probably the best thing that will ever happen to them. They will find courage and strength they never knew was in them!

HUGS, Ladies! Together we will get through this!!! :)
I know it is good for them. It's funny....I'm sure my son will see just how good he had it at home. LOL No more taking Mom for granted. : )
LOL... ditto my boy!
Dana, so your son left on the 18th also? I saw you in another group hoping for PIR on Oct.8. Is that what we are looking at?
8/18 to boot camp. Final call was at 7:30PM.
Oh... I was sure hoping so but now I don't know. I think our boys might have missed it by a day and now they will be 10/15 PIR. Hopefully I'll find out something tomorrow from the recruiter. HUGS!!
Hi, I get letter today. Ship 10, Div 340. Grad day October 8, 2010. Anybody has the same Ship and Div?
