I got my letter this week end and what a welcome sight that was in the mail box. I think it actually took me a minute or two to pick it up. lol  I think I was in shock I was already getting information from my son. I spent the rest of the night on line trying to get the best deal on flights and writing letters to my son. I'm looking forward to chatting with all the wonderful ladies on this site. I think it will make this adjustment that much easier for me.

Thanks marmayes. I am so glad I found this site when I did. I would really be out of my mind without all of you as well.
That's terrible that your cell phone doesn't work at your own home. I've heard that a lot though.
Still no letter today (boo hoo). My husband gets home before I do and he knows to call me every day and tell me if there is or isn't a letter here from my son. lol If I could only "train" my husband that easily on a few other things. lol
So has anyone heard how long it takes our boys to get their letters when we send them? I wasn't thinking about a calling card when my son left so I mailed one in a card to him. Now I'm starting to worry that he won't have the calling card come Sunday and I won't get a call either. :( The joys of a worrying mothers mind!!! geeez. hehe
Well I hope all of us hear something soon so we can share the wonderful news.
proud.mom - did you get a letter today? My mailbox is empty again today :( BUT - no news is good news. After reading some other posts in other groups - no news is DEFINITELY good news!!! Phone call tomorrow, I hope!!
Connie - what about you? Letter? I read some other posts on PIR 9/24 and some got phone calls last night. Am hoping and praying I get one tomorrow!! Wishing all the best for you as well!!!
thank you Marmayes but sad to report no letter no phone call. our son left here with a stack of postcards and stamps and i wish i had pre-addressed and stamped everyone of those cards to our home!!! like you, i will be hoping and praying for a call tomorrow.
Nothing here and it is 8:05 pm :( i guess not today...................maybe a letter tomorrow?
nothing here either....trying trying TRYING to be patient........
We got letters today :) I also FINALLY got my form letter. It had 17 cents postage due on it which, i guess, is why it took so long to get here. Happy Day!!! The boys are doing well, now i can relax (a little).
I'm not trying to invade your discussion, I just want to add...So, along with the discussion about the M&G....If we were to decide to relocate the M&G I would be willing to get it relocated, but that would mean that each family would need to pay for their own meal/bill.

And on that note, I'm wondering if your division wants to do something as a group to make easier to find each other....Pins, sashes, scarves, etc... but they've been around for a long time and each division is responsible for doing their own if they want to. It's not a necessity, but it does help you locate the members in your specific division.
You have so many options... different colored scarves, lanyards, sashes, t-shirts, hats, etc... get creative and think of something unique to all of you and work with the talent in your Div. You will be surprised what all you come up with. It really is just a fun thing to do to make each division easy to stand-out at the M&G.

I don't need to be "notified of the results" of your decision. There has also been discussion of maybe not doing it by division , just doing something for our whole PIR group.
no invasion whatsoever JRB....thank you for joining in our section and sharing the information ;)
My son's friend told me last night that he was not able to make a phone call until week 4 of BC. He also told me that he had to do 100 situps for each letter he got and his girlfriend wrote every day. If that is the case, my son will either hate me or love his developing "six pack" stomach.
i received 3 letters today from my husband!!! he said that the people on mail duty haven't been able to pass a test so thats why they haven't been able to send out mail or receive mail. the letters i received were written on the 13th, 15th and 17th. getting those letters today was absolutely amazing.
i talked to my husband today.. he said that they get short phone calls today and that they earned a 45 minute phone call for passing a test.. he said they are possibly getting the 45 minute calls this Sunday but he's not positive. i got to talk to my husband for a different reason than the phone call they get to make today. i just thought i'd fill you ladies in!!!!
