when does he graduate? the last couple weeks are pretty hectic for them. And keep telling yourself 'no news is good news'.
I am also frustrated by the lack of contact I thought it was just me
Not unusual at all. I think in the beginning they need more contact from/with home.....it's all new to them. Then as time goes by, they're more comfortable and they've settled into a routine with their buddies. It's a good thing you don't hear from them....well, from an overall perspective. I noticed this with both of my sons when they were in boot camp......so it's all good!
Thank you at least I now know it is hopefully because he is fitting in
I think so......and I've heard this question asked many times over the years so it isn't unusual....kind of a pattern to it. Now, of course, WE would love to hear that this is it, right? Oh my...... Hang in there! :o)
Yes we would love for it to be different. Thank you tho I feel better now
They are very busy and very tired in bc my son had bags under his eyes at PIR. They should be writing at least on Sundays. Maybe he is going to church on Sunday like my son. I almost fell off my chair when he wrote me and said yeah mom I am even going to church on Sunday. You can sit down and nobody is yelling at you. Remember "no news is good news" and if something was wrong you should have heard. I hope you get a letter soon. Send him a self addressed stamped envelope and tell him to write his mother. I did that once with my son and he wrote me every week. They can only mail out on Sundays so if he missed mailing a letter on a Sunday he will have to wait until the following Sunday to mail it. Keep writing those encouraging letters to your recruit they aboslutely love it and appreciate it.
Hi Shelly, I know that they can only send mail on Sunday. What I am thinking is maybe that they are just really starting to get to be good friends and ,you know how boys are.Or maybe they are just too tired to write after the long days. I get really worried about my son too, but I try to think that no news is good news. It's my understanding that the first 2 weeks are the hardest and then it starts getting interesting to them. I don't know, but I wanted to respond to your call for help. I'm sure your son is fine as is mine. Also, maybe they missed the mail call. I can think of a million things, but its the not knowing. lol Take care and I'll send a prayer your way. Sheila
It is possible he had lots of extra time. Now he is tired and very busy. That is unusual to get so many letters. I got about 1 a week but she wrote others so sometimes it was nothing. Try not to worry and keep writing to him!
