OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi all,
Still no letter and I am abit concerned about the info that the recruiter gave me for mailing. He said the street address was 3120 Indiana Street. When we went on-line that address didn't match any of the mailing addresses.
Has anyone gotten the form letter with the address? Thanks, I have already mailed several letters and am hoping they find their way to him.

Yes, you will know when Battle Stations are, if your sailor tells you. (keep asking them and someone will get an answer!) Basically Battle Stations are the week before or the week of graduation. For me it was the week of. The call came in on Wednesday, but I was traveling to Great Lakes, and despite my giving complete instructions to my son on when he could and couldn't call me, I got a voice mail, which I still have on my phone. LOL
And ladies, they only get to send mail out on Sundays, but they receive mail Monday through Friday. Sorry, but it's the Navy! -

So, along with the discussion about the M&G....If you have not already been out to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/pir-813-our-experience & read that, please do. Then I would like to know if our PIR group would like to change the location of the M&G. Maybe the group could discuss it?
If we were to decided to relocate the M&G I would be willing to get t relocated, but that would mean that each family would need to pay for their own meal/bill.
And on that note, I'm wondering if we as a division want to do something as a group to make easier to find each other....Pins, sashes, scarves, etc... but they've been around for a long time and each division is responsible for doing their own if they want to. It's not a necessity, but it does help you locate the members in your specific division.
You have so many options... different colored scarves, lanyards, sashes, t-shirts, hats, etc... get creative and think of something unique to all of you and work with the talent in your Div. You will be surprised what all you come up with. It really is just a fun thing to do to make each division easy to stand-out at the M&G. -

Wow as I was getting on this site and reading some of the posts my phone rang and it was my son, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sounded great and it was so good to talk to him. We did not get to talk very long but it was so good to hear from him, he said he mailed me a letter yesterday so that means another letter is on the way here. I am hoping this means others of you out there are getting calls today.
This made my day as on Saturday I was terminated from my job and will have to reevaluate if I am able to attend his graduation or not. He did tell me that he will probably be in Great Lakes until Feb., but he might get to come home at Christmas.

Sorry to hear about the job termination. Hope to see you at PIR. I got a call today! We talked for about 40 minutes. He said the same thing about probably getting to come home for Christmas. It was just great to hear his voice. He said he enjoys the physical training, but he doesn't like marching or nighttime watch. Hope everyone else got a call today.

Wow 40 minutes how awesome! I only got like 5-10 minutes though it seemed like only 2 or 3 minutes. I wonder who else he had called before me because I heard them tell him 1 minute left. I am just glad to have gotten the call and will not worry about whether he talked to other people, at least he called me.

I got a call also! It was so good to hear his voice. ochaos, sorry about the termination and I hope you can find a way to make the PIR. My call was only a few minutes. NIce to hear a rumor about being able to come home for Christmas! But being a former military member, alot can happen to change those plans, so wish for it but don't plan on it!

As the mom of six and a single mom at that I learned a long time ago not to put anything in stone until it actually happens. With two sons in the military I will take the visits home when they happen and be very thankful for them. My oldest is currently stationed 14 hours from me and may be going overseas or to the east coast in Oct. so the visits are few and far between but I am very thankful when they happen. We did family photos before my son left for boot camp because I did not know when they would be all home at the same time again.

Got a letter today and he sounds good. Said he is a Section Leader and says the others get tired of him because he makes them take responsibility. He is eating healthier but misses being able to just hop in his truck and go when he wants. He says 95% of the time they are indoors and he misses being outside. Says he aced his first 2 inspections and then I about fell over as he said he needed to study - words I had never heard him utter in his life. I am so proud of him.
I hope others are getting letters from your recruits. -

I had to laugh at one of our son's comments 'I'll never take for granted again being able to lean on something or just sit down when I want to'! He seems happy though, and he's studying, too - wow!!

I got a phone call on Monday and he sounded so good! He doesn't like his bunk mate and said the RDC is talking about kicking the bunk mate out. My son is very serious so he doesn't tolerate someone that isn't. I am so glad to talk to someone with a son in Spec Ops. Does yours have a SEAL contract or SWCC? My son is going SEAL. I hope we can keep in touch!

Hi all...I am new here. My son called on Monday. I thought I would fall down when I heard his voice!!! Has everyone received letters from DIV 820? I haven't gotten any letters and he said he hasn't gotten any of mine. I have sent over 7 letters to him...hoping he received some this week. I have my reservations for PIR. Where is everyone staying? So good to find some 820 MOMS...Catch me up on what you know...My son said they are all leaders and not many followers, very intelligent...so at times they cancel each other out...No one likes marching and they keep screwing up on the easy stuff...lol. He said the RDC's keep telling them they don't have to be yelled at each day and they want to turn them into sailors...Can't wait to see their faces...So Proud!!!

Hi Robin, my son has a SEAL contract also. He doesn't like the marching either. I was surprised to hear that they might stay at GL until Feb. My son said that there are some immature guys in their division who keep causing them to get yelled at (talking when they shouldn't). He is enjoying the physical challenge. We are staying at Springhill Suites. Hope to see you at PIR.
