I am glued to the phone too. Put it on the window as I was washing dishes. Started to walk to another room and ran back because I forgot it. I am not expecting calls, or even too many letters at this point, boys sounded great but exhausted in their letters home. I had written to them that it would be ok if they didn't get to write too often. Now with the extra duties, I don't really expect much. Feel worse for the kids who got watch because the group who did get to call stated that everyone from that division got to call except for the two on watch. I know they are fine, and we are only about a month away - it should fly by.
I hope so!
it will fly by... look lady's it's been a month almost already!!! lets all hope for calls this week and i'm sure we'll get letters soon :) stay strong!
Boys called! Doing great
They got 20min instead of 60 due to troublemaker. Those on watch and those who had dental will call later this evening. Troublemaker will get NO call. I hope they get him out of there soon. Otherwise it sounds like we have a great group of kids.
bonniern, I posted on PIR 10/1/10 that my SR said the troublemaker(s) will probably be gone by the end of this week. They are on week 2 day 5. 76 guys left in a division that started with 88. He thinks they may, I said MAY, have won an academic flag. Also, not sure if they will PIR in Blues or Whites. It keeps going back and forth. We should probably know by their next calls.
my boyfriend called but i missed it by a minute and it was right next to me. i was devastated and he sounded down that i didn't pick up. he is worried because he has yet to have received any of my letters and i started sending last wednesday, so hopefully soon!! he says he's doing ok but misses and loves me :( he didn't have much on his card left so idk and he called his dad to make it his second call and that had to be a collect call so at least i got to find out from his dad that he was doing ok and he asked his dad if i was alright :) i bought a calling card. mailing it out tomorrow morning. but still sad and upset. at least he left a vm. hope soon for a call.... i miss him sooo much :(
I have not heard about academic flags. I will be researching that tonight. Does your kiddo have a leadship role?
I read somewhere that we will PIR in whites, then 10/8 starts blues. I thought no white (other than winter white) after labor day, is the Navy capable of a fashion faux pau?
My son's letter said they did get the acedemic flag! Sounds like they are doing great!
Now we can all breath a sigh of relief!!! Our boys are doing GREAT!
I was so excited to get a call today. I didn't recognize the phone number, so glad I answered! My son sounded good, but he misses his family so much. He told me when he got his sister's letter he almost cried. I guess he didn't, which was good. The were told before phone calls they better not be seen crying, or some type of punishment. What the heck is up with that?! I made sure not to be too mushy, and stay positive!
