I am not sure where to stay...
I had made reservations for the Ramada before we knew there was going to be a Meet and Greet there.. we didn't get our email confirmation.. so I called. Nothing was sent... so I called again the next day... gave them my husbands email.. ziltch... so I waited a few days.. I went online to look up the hotel, and there was a "traveler comment" section. I selected it.. and there was not a lot of good things said.. appearently it is not in a very good part of town.. and the pool has worn off paint and it is very runed down..
I called the hotel and they said that the hotel does need the pool resurfaced and it needs updated but they were going to do it hopefully next year..
Those are flags going off in my head because if something wrong can happen.. for me it will. I asked them about the surrounding area and neighborhood. They said it was "okay".. WARNING!! I'm thinking..
So I called the base and they told me that North of Chicago is not the best place to be. South side of Chicago is better.
So I called a few hotels on the south side and they are more expensive as well. I am "step mom" so I am not on the guarenteed guest list, same with my elderly parents.. so if we can't get in to see Corinne graduate, I wanted to be able to do other things.. and not be scared to leave my hotel.
Does anyone have any suggestions.. ??? I don't know what to do.
:) Kelly in Ohio
