Aren't these just the longest days in your life?  I'm now a mailbox junkie, hangin' out by the box all the time just waiting for that letter!

Does anyone have a son or daughter Ship 6, Div 945?  Being a performance division, I'd love to hear what you know about the workload and their (few) extra privileges.

        Thank you all!

Whaletalkers you are awesome!!! I looked very hard for my daughter, but it is so hard to tell which one she is. It made me cry!!! Thank you!!!
I cant take credit for the video NavyMomX2, A friend on fb found it. I cannot thank her enough.
Thanks so much! They look and sound really good! That was a good video of the marching band.
We looked very hard at this video and we think we found her! We won't know for sure until we ask her where she was in the line up, but we are pretty sure. Yea!!! Thank you Whaletalkers!!
Hello Division 945 ladies. If you have access to Facebook here is the link for RTC Great Lakes. Under the discussions tab there is a thread for Div 945/ PIR 9/24. There are a couple of ladies on there that might not be on here. Good way of meeting fellow Div 945 members.

Thanks Chefswifey,
If you go to that Facebook link of the RTC do not post names or any links other than government links or they get upset and delete them. They post one picture each week of a selected division. And they post pictures of the PIR's.
Yeah I noticed they deleted my post about Navy For Moms. It's a "social networking" site for goodness sake. LOL.
I know. I didnt know when I first joined them and they deleted some of my posts too. I also wrote on the lady's post who was looking for hotels there about my experienc with the one we stayed at last time and they deleted it also. T
Got a letter today!!
Dated Sept 1st. He said its hard to believe there is only 24 days left. They were in the middle of Hell Week. They had Zone inspection and used the simulators (guns). He said they were going to have live fire the next day.
Dont like the meatloaf. LOL Misses food and wants me to make Indian Tacos for him while we are there. (our hotel has a kitchenette).
He changed his rate from AECF because it was overmaned and promotion rate was 3% so now he is an STG like his older brother.
4 Aug
Hard part over and Harder part to come. He explained the ship movement. He said they decomissioned the USS Constitution. Its still ship 6 they are in the USS Rueben James Class FFG-57. They got to commission their ship lst night (note date), Said they PT'ed "until the walls sweated aka make it rain". That explains everyone being sweaty in their letters.
Still no recent letters for us. Only had 2 so far and one extremely brief phone call. It's been hard for us who are hungry for news here at home. Makes what I learn from everyone here so precious to me! Thanks for keeping us all up to date!
Ditto. 2 letters and one phone call, glad to know I'm not the only one in that situation, plus appreciate hearing what is going on through others. Thanks!
:( I feel your hearts.... My other son is around the world and I didnt get to hear his voice for 5 months... heart wrenching. And he is my horrible writer, so no letters either. I would get an email every now and then. The ships Ombudsman is my best friend. LOL
Make sure whatever ship your sailor gets on that YOU get listed for contacts from the ombudsman. If they dont contact then YOU contact them and they will contact your sailor to confirm you. I get newsletters each month from them. It helps when you have a sailor that dont think to pick up a pen and write. I even sent pre-addressed and stamped envelopes to my sailor. He just hates to write. LOL Little Stinker!!
