While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi all,
Still no letter and I am abit concerned about the info that the recruiter gave me for mailing. He said the street address was 3120 Indiana Street. When we went on-line that address didn't match any of the mailing addresses.
Has anyone gotten the form letter with the address? Thanks, I have already mailed several letters and am hoping they find their way to him.

Hi Robin,
yes, my son is going SEAL, has written several times and sounds upbeat. I can't wait to see him!! We haven't chosen a hotel yet. I know one other Mom who has a son in the same division. I wonder should we group up? Wear something to denote our division? Or I suppose we will be introduced via the guys once we watch PIR! -

I believe that everyone from division 820 will be assigned to sit in the same block of seats. I think it was on one of PIR info forums that talked about seeing signs about where to sit and it was by division. Any one going to go to the meet n greet Thursday evening?

we weren't planning on Meet and Greet. Can we make a sign for them to see? Didn't know if we could get in with a sign or not??

No, no signs are allowed in. They will block other people's view.

Yes, but remember, they are at least 85 members in the division and that means 160 people, at least. The signs are there and actually easy to find, just sit in the section that is in front of the sign. It is a good idea to go to the Meet and Greet so you can meet some people. The boys only want to get off the base and so are not interested in introductions. And don't know who you've been talking to on here. But you could meet someone that doesn't know about this site and you could introduce them! Have fun!

Hi everyone. My family was at MEPSCO twice this month first to send my son off-he is in the 820, and yesterday to send off my daughter's boyfriend. I spoke to a naval officer while there he he reiterated that there are no scheduled promotions or moving up in ranks until after Christmas. I guess that means the guys in pre-buds now won't move to BUDS until after Christmas so it looks like our guys may be in Great Lakes until February. He said that since they started the special bc for the specops and began pre-buds they are having more guys make it-so I guess they are kind of back logged now. It will give our guys a bit longer to prepare for buds-but I wonder why the rush on the bc. Anyone know what they can have while in pre-buds? I'm sure they can not receive anything until Monday the 27th when they move over-they start classes,I was told by the recruiter, on the 28th. One post from a while ago said if you can stick around until they are in their new quarters, sometimes you can deliver things to them. Any truth in this or will it have to be mailed. Trying to make plans as to how long I will be in GL -so that bit of info would be helpful.

Was day are our guys on. My son said they would have battle stations on 5-2. I've seen on past pir groups that they start posting it a couple of days before the big event. Should be the week of the 13th

I was on the pir 9/24 group and saw everyone posting about hell week-are our guys half way through it? He hadn't mentioned anything about it in his letter last week. Wonder how far in advance they were prepared? I thought hell week was at BUDS.

I don't know...I haven't heard of a hell week in BC either. My son did say it is possible to get set back in boot camp. I don't know if that means they will have to stay longer in bc or if it means they are screwing up and have to retest certain things?? Anybody know? He said one of the RDCs is a little tough on them. I thought last week was 4-1, so if battlestations is 5-2, seems like that would mean Tuesday of this coming week. (09/07/10) My son did write a letter to my parents and said they would not be going to BUDS until February...that has been confirmed to them.

If they don't pass BS or are having other problems (not passing tests), they will set back in boot camp and it will be another week before they graduate.
Any body else have a question I could answer? LOL -
