So we shouldn't expect another call until just before graduation! I am going crazy here! The first call was like 10 seconds, I'm not complaining. I understand, and was thankful to hear he made it safe. The second call was about 20 min. I think, but was nice to get to chat with him. I was really hoping for a call soon, so I feel more comfortable about the PIR date...
yea exactly.... my gf got 4 calls total from her now fiancee.... i'm like :( i'm bummed considering i missed his call by a minute last monday..... i'm still just leaving it as a surprise that he'll call. every division is different.
Hello everyone, I'm traveling for work but will check in here periodically as time allows over the next few days. I'm not expecting a call, but I sure am Hoping for one. Did you see the picture of the recruits on the RTC facebook page? it was div 329 in the mess hall. They look so cute in their digis. These sailors will be in our PIR! So cool to get a glimpse into their daily routine.
Thanks Bonnie for sharing! I had not been to the RTC facebook page recently. Now I am going to keep checking for div 326, maybe I'll get lucky and get a glimpse of my son!
how do you get on the RTC facebook?
just go to facebook and type U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command in the search section, and the page will come up, and you can view the photos.
Hey everybody, I don't get to write often on this site, but the information and support is awsome. I too only get one page letters from my son, He writes the long letters to his girlfriend and even calls her. I'm just a little jealous, but He's missing her more than me... Imagine that, I (who suffered thru labor for 12 hours) get a letter that say's, I'm fine, ask K (the girlfriend... I wrote her more and don't want to write it twice. He's been depressed, but it's all about the girlfriend. He did say, It's not that hard. I hope the DEP training helped him some. Our family got hotel reservations at the Ramada Inn in Gurney IL. It has Queen beds, fridg/microwave and an indoor pool. I can't wait, only 20 (or 21) days. hope to see you all at Graduation. Bonnie KL's mom
Thanks! This makes me feel better. I was beginning to think I was the only underappreciated mother. lol. :-)
I know that this is an older post, but I couldn't help but reply to it. It kind of made me wince. Haha. I'm on the opposite side of the situation--the girlfriend that gets all the letters, while his mom gets very few. If his girlfriend is anything like me, let me assure you: she feels like total crap about it. Haha.

And if it makes you feel any better, his mom has received only two letters thus far. I've made sure to avoid her knowing the exact number I've gotten. :(
it's weird because my gf's fiancee had liberty and it was overnight liberty all weekend and he had "A: school at great lakes as well. she said to not lose hope. she said it could be possibly they are trying to get them a little riled up. so just stay positive guys. :) either way we get to see them and they will all look handsome. i know i can't wait to see my boyfriend!! i only got one letter this week and not on the usual day. i guess because of the holiday, i don't know!
For Grad n Go info, go to discussions in our PIR group, view all, go to the last page. Sobe posted a link there with alot of info. I am thinking BS will be around 9/24. So we will wait n see. PIR 10/1, I will meet ya'll at the bar on 9/30! We are almost there folks!
Just got 2 more short letters from my SR, said "Chief isolated the sick people so now everyone is feeling better, its alway 69 degrees in the compartment, division is working together alot better" Also said "can't get newpaper articles of anything, its considered contraband."
