Battlestations run from about 8 pm on "start" dates posted above, until 8 am the next morning.  Capping ceremony after that....trading Recruit caps for Sailor caps.  Then chores....then "I'm a Sailor" calls starting early to mid-afternoon and going into the evening.

thanks for doing this Dianne. now i want to ask so i can try and make sure not to forget...when we get the i'm a sailor calls, we should ask....1- did everone pass? 2- what div's all went with you? Am i forgetting anything else?
I think those are the 2 most important questions! That helps alot for the other ladies who may not hear from their new sailor right away. At least they know that they passed. Exciting times ahead for you all! I can't even tell you how wonderful PIR is! And the I'm a Sailor call is pretty great too! Prayers for all of the recruits!
My son is in the first group to go, so I'll hopefully be posting news this Friday. I'll be sure to ask the questions too!
Thanks, Karen. Any news is a great help to the others here! I know that when my son made his "I'm a Sailor" call back in Jan, it was the most exciting call I think I have ever received! That's what's waiting for you all too! We got to talk for an hour. More likely to have the longer calls if not too many divisions go. If 4 divisions go at once, calls will be a bit shorter.
First of all, thank you so much for posting this. I am so grateful to all of you. Now, will someone please explain to me what battlestations is? My SR hasn't told me much about that specifically, everything else, yes, but not this. I want to know how to specifically pray. We will already be on the road to GL by the time the phone call comes. I hope we're not in a "dead zone" and we don't miss it!

Thanks again!
proud mom: BattleStations is a culmination of all that they have learned....in one night! It is done on a mock ship. Beyond that, we are not allowed to know. They sign a confidentiality paper. But it is a night of adrenaline and teamwork. They work in smaller goups and some may fail...not divisions, but groups within. But usually most pass. I would pray for endurance, focus, stamina, and staying awake! They can't sleep! They have usually been up for about 36 hours by the time they make the I'm a Sailor calls. They can't go to bed until 8 pm that night...but I bet none have a problem going to sleep! There is a BattleStations 21 video on youtube. Put on by CNN. Put that in the searchbox on www.youtube.com and watch it. Wnat they go through is much more intense (as told by the recruits) but it will give you a peek! Safe travel!
Thanks so much for the info, just watched the video/wow! I will also be praying for all the recruits.
Proudmom, you are not the only one that seems to be clueless! Someone help us out here and fill in all the details, please?????? Battlestations are what?? and if they pass battlestations then each div. has a capping ceremony???
Thanks for the info..I will start burning my candle on Thurs. night...praying that everyone passes this, and you all get calls!!!!!
semaggie: Read my reply to proud mom above. As far as the capping ceremony, yes....it is done the morning they finish. Not sure if each division has its own...I would assume it would be one ceremony for all who finished that morning, but actually I dont know. I believe they are congratulated by the Commander of RTC though.
This is a very scary time for us, isn't it. To think they could have all endured 7 weeks of basic, then fail battlestations, WOW! what a scary thought. I will pray for the entire division to pass, then. Can't wait to meet all of you at meet and greet.
If they fail, they get a chance to do it again where they will pass. But if they fail on a Wed night BStations, they wouldn't be able to do it again until probably Sun or Mon with the next PIR group. So pray hard for the divisions going tonight in the 9/17 group!
