Aren't these just the longest days in your life?  I'm now a mailbox junkie, hangin' out by the box all the time just waiting for that letter!

Does anyone have a son or daughter Ship 6, Div 945?  Being a performance division, I'd love to hear what you know about the workload and their (few) extra privileges.

        Thank you all!

@Chefswifey- I know what you mean about good motivation. They have worked so hard. Normal boot camp classes and stuff then the added pressure of practicing and performing. But my SR said going to to parade made him feel human again being the civilian world and how much they all were appreciated there. I think that helped perk them up a bit to hit the last leg of their journey.
Saying a big prayer and crossing my fingers for them today.. :)
Praying for you all as your DIV heads for BS on Monday! Hope this is reassuring... our son said it goes by so fast that you don't have time to think about it. May all the SRs in DIV 945 feel the same way!
@momofcurtis-Thank you. Your kind words are appreciated greatly. My 1st Sailor said the hardest part was trying to stay awake until lights out. :) Congratulations on your new Sailor!! :)
@Whaletalkers, Thank you! We're almost there! I'll have my candle lit, with prayers going up for DIV 945 and all of you! One of the boys said basic training has been like one long day, with a few naps. We're almost there!
I received a letter from my daughter on Thurs. She said she is enjoying being in the band and being part of the other graduations. She said it makes her more excited about seeing us in the bleachers on her grad day. :) Today is her birthday and she is 18. Bless her heart she is concerned about me being sad today and that was the first line in her letter. "Please dont be sad on my birthday mom. I only want you to be happy." I hope that she has a good day and wish all of the SRs great success in their BS coming up. 5 more days and we will all see our loved ones! YAYAYAYAY!
Happy 18th Birthday to your daughter! I hope it goes smoothly and without incident. Thanks for sharing the news! My daughter likes being in the band also. I think it is something familiar in a very unfamiliar environment. 5 days!!! :)
Awww! How sweet is that?! A very happy happy birthday to your daughter!
My SR said also what a great experience it was to be in the band. Who would have thought having EXTRA responsibilities would be embraced by my young man; the one who would run in the opposite direction before taking on anything above and beyond the basics?
@heathersmom- I am so glad you got the letter. Its kind of like your sharing her day together. :)
Yes it was very sweet of her. I still made her favorite dinner, lol. I must admit it was an emotional day. I knew I would miss her but her friendship, I think, I miss the most. Thanks to evryone for their birthday wishes for her. I will make sure to mention to her how sweet everyone on here has been. There will be alot of catching up to do :-).
BATTLESTATIONS TODAY!!
I know they will do good, but I still have a knot in my stomach!! :) We should get calls tomorrow after noon "I'm A SAILOR!"

I am going to go get my son's girl friend at 11 am from school tomorrow. Half a school day in the district , couldnt have come at a more perfect time. We will phone sit together!! :)
I know when my boys went through Marine Corps bootcamp there wasn't any phone calls so I will be phone sitting as well. I am a nervous wreck, lol. I think my prayer circle should cover the entire night. Candles ready to be lit, prayers ready to be said and fingers crossed fror all to receive those " I am a sailor" calls tomorrow. :) :)))) Good luck to all!!
@heathersmom-- I am sure they will do just fine but i know what you mean,, NERVOUS here also! :)

To Everyone--I guess I wont be just phone sitting with my SR girl friend in reality I will be phone and pc sitting with all of YOU!! LOL (((HUG)))
