Thanks for starting this group. I am so pleased to see our Ship & Div. Excited now as I know it is not too far away. I am going to wait at least until the middle of Oct. before I purchase plane tickets. I am sure my son will do fine as he has been running for the past 5 mths M-F. Doing his 2 miles so he would be ok when he gets there in order to have no strains or injuries with his IFA.
my son has same pir and ship but his div is 365
Went ahead and got reservations at Residence Inn as we would rather have all together than separate rooms. That way we will have a kitchen and not need to go out and eat. He can chill out then we will do something on Sat. if he feels like it. I know it will be intense for him so this is his chilling time....mine will be just to look at my "new man"!!
Hey okeemom...I got the two bedroom suite at the Residence Inn as well. Look forward to meeting you and everyone. Everyone told me my son may want to 'chill' too so I figured we would get the separate living area as well. Ahhhhhhhhhhh..can't wait to see my 'man'! -L
Looking forward to meeting you...I don't know if we will get to the meet n great as I am bringing my mother along and she is 84..So will see what happens..also I checked and they have a "flash-taxi" as shuttle..$3 each way but think it is better than driving. We will have our gate pass so we can take Corey back each day since he will have A school there!! Plus I saw they have an indoor pool and coming from Fla. I am sure my son may want to go there just to relax with his friend that is coming up too!! Praying everyday for all the young men & women to be strong and to stay healthy!!
Just got my husband's letter! Finally!!!!
PIR 11/12 Ship-11 DIV-369!!!!! Super excited!!!!!
Great for you & a great ship/div!!!
Well, our son, Dennis, is in ship 11 but div 370. So new to this! How many are in each division? Would they be grouped together where they sleep? Has been my prayer for months that our boy would make good friends in the Navy, as he has had a group of friends in college for the past three years that he is going to miss greatly.
O.K. Gals, what is the information for the Residence Inn???? Let me know and I will check into it too!!! Thanks!
I got a 2 bedroom suite w/ full kitchen..plus couch that is a bed. For $139. I have done alot of looking since May and this seems the best for me. I will have my mom plus a brother and a family friend so we all opted to get a bigger area so we all can see our sailor man together. The # is called is 847-689-9240. Good luck with it!!
Thanks so much, I will run it by the hubby and see what he thinks. I was thinking the Ramada due to cost, we will have our family, Diego's girlfriend, my sister and her two boys, plus the girlfriend's mom, husband, girlfriends two sisters and one sisters boyfriend. I am hoping we can all get in. My sister is a bit upset that Diego put the girlfriend's mom and her husband on the list. He didn't know that she was coming though. This is a total of 13 people, not sure about that many getting in.
I think we are looking at the raddison! I checked ramada that would have been good but raddison was cheaper... Im so ready to go!!!!
