Hi All. I told you if I waited it out I'd eventually hear from my son. Got a phone cal too!!!! He had 2 wisdom teeth removed and hates his BC glasses but otherwise is very happy. He passed all of his tests and is the Education Petty Officer. BonnieMae, he knows your husband. Said that the SECFs are becoming a good team.
That is so funny, Bonnie! I know Josh was pretty excited when he found out there was some kind of connection - and Josh B. would be my son ... He also knows Carly and John, but he knows them by their last names, not first. lol (And we have to try to keep all of that under wraps, so to speak, for their safety!)
That is funny. I asked Carly about a couple of the names I know from this site and she said she only knew last names. That's cool that Josh recognizes her. Make me feel better, thanks. LOL!
Happy Anniversary Joshua's mom and dad! And welcome Jean. So glad to hear about all the phone calls today and encouraged to hear good news from so many of your SRs. I think about your guys/girls many times during the day.
It was a busy morning and I forgot about a luncheon at work until it was too late to go, then my phone rang. Man, am I glad I missed lunch and was there for her call! Some good news, some not so good, so I am asking if you would keep positive thoughts for Carly. Thanks. She says she has been getting all our letters and they really make a difference. Go postal service :-).
I am enjoying all your posts. Keep the news coming and thanks for sharing. Good night all. CR
Good morning y'all! Hope everyone's week is going well so far ...

Sure got quiet in here after all of those phone calls!! lol I know I've been busy!

CarlysMom - Thank you for the anniversary "wish" - we had a good day - especially after we got to talk to Josh!

Bonnie - Both of our boys were always taught, "No matter how you behave at home, you had better be on your BEST behavior when you're out in public!" Fortunately, they've both done very well with that. I'm sure the military way has a little bit to do with Josh's good manners as well! Ha!

Well, laundry awaits and it won't get done on its own. I hope the rest of your week goes well and brings more communication from your sailor in one form or another! (Hey, another week almost completed ... one more week closer to PIR!!)
I got a letter too AND a completed survey that was one of the first things I sent. Says things are going smoothly. Happy Birthday to Madeline. Her birthday is on my husband's. Did Billy say when they are leaving for BESS?
My boyfriend's rackmate is Richard Nel*** (only guy whose first name I have been told). Does anyone claim him? Joe said they call each other brother b/c they have the same last name. He has really enjoyed getting to know a bunch of great guys in their division and has mentioned quite a few by their last name. He said the RDCs are cool-- they even played Lynard Skynard & Johnny Cash the other day.
Hey Charity - I can't claim that one ... I don't believe I've heard the name, however my son mostly refers to the last names when he speaks of fellow recruits - and before I forget ... WELCOME!

Anyone hear anything since the last letters? It's been mighty quiet in here! Ha - guess everyone had something going on over the weekend! We took a ride on my hubby's motorcycle - it was a BEAUTIFUL day to be outside on Saturday!
My last letter arrived this past Thursday... I actually got 2 envelopes with a total of 4 letters. :)
Basically he LOVES me!!!
He learned to shine boots & got his dog tags (Sep 22nd). He decided that he DOES like the dress blues. He's lost a quite a few friends d/t them being ASMO'd (medical problems/sick too much). Please pray everyone continues to stay in good health or has a swift recovery. He needs a hug from my mom! :) Sep 26th, "an atheist got saved". His RDCs are "being really cool...they played Skynard & Cash!! :)
I want to ask Joe if he knows your son, can you tell me the first 3 letters of your last name if it wont give it away completely...i.e. if its Smith... 3 letters would be too much.
Charity - Let's just say his name is Josh B. - for safety reasons. lol He is the Athletic Petty Officer for their division, so that will give you more to work with!

BonnieMae - my hubby and I were talking about phone calls earlier. He agrees with your count - three total - the "I'm here" call - the one we just got last Monday - and the "I'm a Sailor!" call - which I'm looking SO forward to!!

I've always told my kids not to wish their lives away - but this is one time I'm WISHING the PIR date would get here already!! LOL
Thats awesome Mrs. B!!!! Congratualtions to him. My boyfreind (of 3 yrs), Joe N. is the Chaplain petty officer for the division.
