I spoke with hubby last night and he said to do the Ramada and I will be calling today. I am not sure what the total of people will be, but I will pray that it works out.
Hey Sharon...the Residence Inn is a Marriott Hotel. You can book via the internet or it is located at: 1440 South White Oak Drive, Waukegan,IL 60085 and the phone number is 1 847-689-9240. I only chose this over the Ramada as I wanted the suite. I hear any place is ok there..will serve its purpose. My plan is to stay there and STILL go to the meet and greet the Ramada hosts for ALL parents/families regardless of where you are staying. I hope I get my letter today. ;-(
I plan on going to meet and greet too if we get there in time.... We are coming from SC! I think we will stay at the raddison.. not sure yet...i think that first week was the roughest.... Im so excited to have gotten a little note on the letter:)
Yes me too!! PIR 11/12/2010 Ship 11 Div 369
Welcome!!!! See you soon!!!
Hi Sharon, Looking forward to getting to know everyone..
O.K. we have decided to stay at the Ramada and we will see you all at the Meet and Greet!! It will be so much fun to meet everyone, though Loreta and I met when our boys were at MEPS and shipped together. Only she hasn't received her letter of info yet and doesn't know what is address is. Loreta..................TODAY IS THE DAY!! You have received his box which is cool, the letter shouldn't be that far behind. I told you we were surprised to get it all so soon. See everyone on the 11th!!!!!
did any get the address from the recruiter? I got mine the day after he left and just so you all know A-1 I was told is a split co-ed div.
Now for the wives and G-F. Do not freak out. They can not have any contact with the females and they have been told this over and over. This a cause for separation. Just wanted to let ya know in case your SR says something so you have a heads up.
This will be my first time with this type of division.
No, our recruiter never called me back. We got Diego's letter with his information on Saturday. He left on Tuesday and his clothes came on Friday and letter on Saturday. I guess you never know.
it is sort of funny since the Navy is so matter of fact. Hey though, if the SR's learn early then this also shows what restraint and attention they have. I am not positive as to how the compartment is split, but it is sortof interesting. They must have not wanted to open a different end of the ship?? I am thinking possibly females on one side and males on another.
When we were at Meps I met a young lady who was also leaving for the Navy. She told me girls were upstairs over the guys. It was a different entrance and there were Major problems should either females or males be found on the same floor!!
Tobianne 1Sailor&1soon--I did not get any thing that said A-1...did I miss it somewhere..now I have another question for my son in his 6th card I will be sending on Thurs. I try to send something every other day. Even if it is short he will at least know how much I love & support him..plus I send a picture or 2 of his cat or dog or pictures from his anchors aweigh party we had the day before he left. Anything to get him to smile and relax!!
Just finished making our reservations at the Ramada Inn for PIR. We are looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone!! Now all we need to do is figure out how to get all the names on the list to get on base. We will have to wait and see if anyone has room on their list to add another name for us. I have been told that there will be families that can't come and their Sailors have room on their list to add another. I am praying we will be able to do this. I just found out that Diego's siblings names need to be on the list and that changes things. So, will see how it works out. God is good!!!
