i am totally there with you! if i knew how he was doing i could relax a little tiny bit and enjoy the time i have with family while we are still around them...
Proud navy mom,
I understand exactly, when I got the two letters, you would think I won a lottery..
According to my son the team is bonding with one another and they share the homesickness with one another on Sunday during mail calls, so keep on writing even if just a card..I have given pre addressed envelopes to friends even with stamps on them just so that will not be an excuse for them not to send him a note...I understand that i will not get a letter from him every week but I want him not to miss a letter on mail call day..
He said everyone is working really well together and i am so proud of him...
good Wednesday morning all....4 weeks since my son left...seems like an eternity ago.....but that also means we are closer to PIR! have any plans been finalized as to the meet and greet on Thursday night? also, how are we going to know each other when we do see each other...I suggested buttons or t-shirts at one time, but got no response...I can make something and send it your way, or make it and bring it along. I love to do stuff like that. if you send me a message with your childs/husband/wife/brother/siste name, I can make ribbons. I made some for Kaleb's going away party, and they were simple but cute. please let me know.
I have not heard of any plans, I was planning on going to the Mary K meet and greet at the Ramada Inn with my friend from Div 949, should we all meet at the Ramada Inn also?
Some one suggested making banner to hold up as a group at Graduation for afteward so that our sailors can find us or that they need to stay in one spot so we can find them..I am sure what ever you planned on making is wonderful.
I got a call today!!! i hope you all did too!!!
Not me but my mom did, he calls my parents as they are more accessable than me..he had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and was on bed rest for a day...still loving the navy
my husband doesnt need to get his wisdom teeth pulled in boot but he has to get glasses in A school... my husband misses us but he is making the best of his experiences
I finally got letters,,,he said he was depressed that before the dentist numb him for the pulled he told him that the skins beat the cowboys,,,so that was a downer and added more to his pain,,lol.
My son has to get glasses too...he is loving his group....
Hi Dillions Mom, Welcome, even though I am sorry that your plans had to change. I have peeked in on 10/15 PIR group and they are a great bunch of moms. As of today, this division is on Week 4 Day 1. I know they have not gone through Hell Week yet. I hope that they don't make your son do the gas chamber 2 times. Yuck :( I have received a couple of letters but the latest information that I have is that they are still in classes, training and marching. i think they were suppose to start with weapons this week. I know that my daughter passed swimming but, I don't know any other real information on what they are doing. We had one short phone call last Wednesday that told us what day the division was on. We will probably look to you to guide us as to where they should be. Lol. Kim
Welcome, Dillons mom, your son had been moved to a wonderful division if I can go by from what I have heard from my son and other mom's here about their sons/daughters. Everyone here has been a great supporter of each other and I am so glad for that. Sound like good advise about the fight part.. From what my son told me they are bonding really well as a group and I am sure they will embraced Dillon and he will be fine. Remember it is better that they are corrected now and learn from it then later on when their lives and others will depend on them making good judgement calls.
-Kim (my name is Kim too)
Mailing address is 3405 Sailor Drive, zip 60088-3510. I think the not knowing is the toughest part of this whole process for moms. My daughter has not lived at home (or even in the same state) for a year - so the separation wasn't the problem, it's not being able to communicate. You don't realize how much texting, facebook, and email can be a source of communication besides talking on the phone or in person. I don't think the day will ever come that I will stop worrying whether or not she is happy and safe. Not hearing her voice and reassuring myself that everything is okay is hard. From what you have said, your recruit has a good head on his shoulders. I know he is going to come through this fine, and will be of great value to the rest of the division as he will be able to guide them and help them. Hugs to you :-)
Are you sure the zipcode is right? We've been using 60088-3401. She's been getting all of our letters. Maybe the last 4 numbers don't matter.
