Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

tobianne, yes have heard the first 3 weeks are the toughest so I'm kinda glad I haven't heard from him because I'm sure he'll be up and then be down emotionally. They play the mind games so it's good they have his full attention and not me butting in. I'm sure the officers wouldn't be doing their jobs if you didn't hate them at some point. We hope our letters are encouraging but basically just a lot of talk about every day life at home. Hope to get better insight when we hear from him.
Really getting ahead of myself but I joined a group that has sailors in A school where my son will be going next. Good Grief! By the end of the week I'll have him on a ship out to sea!! I should at least let him get thru Basic. : )
hello my husband is ship 11 div 366 i hope he passed his swim test this last week...he was worried about the prone float...i miss him but am very excited about this new journey and i pray for the best for all our recruits
litlepig11 - hate to call you that........yes, I'm sure all the recruits are worried about some part of their training they just aren't strong in. Thank you for the prayers, they are appreciated. My son is in ship 11 and div 366 also and you just never know who is bunking with who. Hopefully they make some good friends to help them through.
Has anyone had any news from their recruit? Other than the form letter, that is.
Not me Linda, this upcoming week marks 3 wks. so now maybe they will have a little more free time. If I do I will share that information and hope everyone else does too. Was also thinking about how hard this is on the fathers, grandfathers, brothers, husbands etc. that are at home like us waiting. My husband goes thru spells and just breaks down. Lets not forget the moms but also the guys and what they experience through all this. My prayers are with them. ♥
No news here either. I have run to the mail box everyday this week looking and if my husband gets home before I do I make him call me to tell me if we got one or not. It's going to be worse this week waiting on that mail man!
Well I am like everyone else and went out to the mailbox after work and of course there was nothing so I slammed it shut. I just wish there would be something soon. I am hoping that yesterday was a day that they could write. I heard that Sunday were the day if they got the priveldege. We shall see.
Not us either.... I'm driving my husband crazy, if he gets home before I do, I make him call me to tell me if we got one or not. Hopefully soon. All our travel plans are made just counting down the days. I like the count down on the front page!

Ha !! aren't we just the craziest?? If only our recruits could see how worked up we are. They would be so embarassed but so what !! Seems just a few days ago we were fretting about the form letter and the box !! What will we do with ourselves when we start getting correspondence and phone calls? I'm with ya, tho. ♥
Was this the form letter that you got with the graduation information on it or did you get a personal letter from him? I was hoping for a letter this week since they have been there for over two weeks, but haven't received one yet. I am so anxious to hear how she is doing. Even a phone call would be great. I guess I just have to keep waiting. Have you heard from many people that are Ship 11 Div 366? I just joined the group.
Swagner
We are looking for news from our recruits, not the form letter. Yes, we are all anxiously waiting. There are several of us with the same ship and div number. You'll have to look back at all the postings but regardless we all have the same PIR date of 11/12.
