Just letting you all know if you have an LO in 05-11 that I made a facebook page for family and friends.  Please join so we can get to know each other.  Less than 3 weeks to go!

It's a great idea, and I'm sure as the time gets closer and closer you will have a lot of participants! If you have a LO who will be in 05-11, and if they have a facebook group among themselves as they get ready, you could ask him to post the link to the group for LO's and ask the class members to let their LO's know about it. Otherwise sometimes the class members don't know, and the LO's don't find out about the group.
I already did...my fiance has been in OCS since Map 2010...he has been in medical holding. I have developed pages for three groups already. I was just positing this on here to let anyone know. Thank you.
oh my word, i'm so sorry for you that your fiance has been there forever! how is he holding out? how are YOU holding out?
It has been hard- I moved out of my apartment in July thinking we would be in flight school by August 1st. (He was supposed to grad. July 30th). I moved in with his parents and I am still there. :) It has been good. I have been up there a few times to see him- we are handling it although it would be nice for him to be done with all of this. He is holding out- ready to class back up and continue. Ugh! It was been hard but we knew this when he joined so...I suppose we have been taking it one day at at time. It gets easier the longer someone is gone but he has his cell phone this entire time in medical holding and gets liberty so it has been doable. I think I am ok for when he classes back up...he joined class 18-10, 19-10, 20-10 and than went into medical holding for surgery in August. So...does that answer your question? How are you related to your LO?
My son is in 02-11, into the 7th week at this point. They will be the CandiO's for 05-11. I've been one of the admins for the 02-11 group...
O, I see. Well good to know you. My LO already went through everything...he likely will class back up for Outpost...
best wishes to you! i will be joining the 05-11 group eventually, have so appreciated the support of LO's from the classes ahead of ours as well. it's an amazing journey. you and your fiance will grow from this experience in ways you would have never predicted.
We are definitely holding on to this. I am a mental health therapist and we were talking the other day that no matter who we come into contact with, we have experienced it. We are growing and will use this to help others. :)
My boyfriend is in the 05-11 class. I can't find the family and friends group on Facebook. Can you post a link in this discussion? Or maybe I'm not looking for the right thing. I'm very new at all of this.
Please get on facebook and search for OCS 05-11 family and friends

Thanks!! Just requested to join! Look forward to "meeting" others in the group
Hi everyone,
My son is in OCS Class 04-11. We have a facebook page as well as Navy4mom. Please feel free to join our groups as well as those of class 03-11 and 02-11. We can exchange a lot of information to each other from class to class. One piece of info we have not been able to get clear info for is the exact stand down dates for the Christmas break. Do any of you or your LOs know exactly when they can leave and when they need to be back? Here are our groups...
FB--Friends/Family of 03 OCT 2010 Navy OCS Class 04-11
N4M--Loved Ones of OCS class 04-11
Looking forward to sharing info and experiences with you.
