My daughter arrived Oct 6th.
Her names Alex and from KS.
did you get the call? My son told me that I woulldnt get his things for a few weeks. I asked him 'a few weeks?' and he said yes. I thought it would take a week at the most. I think he was just delirious due to lack of sleep..
My daughter is also from KS. and left on the 6th from Denver, where did Alex leave from?
good luck to your daughter. She is a strong person. Have you heard from her yet?
You'll get your first call normally at week 3 mine came on a Thursday night look for 847 area code
good to know. Thank you. I will start marking the days off on the calenday.
Hi Marylou,
My daughter left on the 6th from California. It was an emotional day. She is married so her husband gets all the information from the Navy, not me. I feel very out-of-the-loop.
Luckily, you have this site. I have found it to be a treasure chest of information. I have read most of the information up, down, left, right, frontwards and backwards. LOL. It was funny because I was telling my son what was going to happen next!

If you need a couple laughs, there is a thread that posts about funny letters that they have received from their family or loved ones in boot camp. http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/1971797:Topic:856292?commen...

Funny stuff.

Hang in there, we're here for you.
My son Dylan left 10/6 as well. Late phone call...no box yet. Very lonely up here in Maine. He finally got his dream!
My daughter left from Annapolis on the 6th also. She left for bc within 30 days from joining so she never went to a DEP meeting. I'm so greatful for this site. Good luck to all our saliors!!
What made her want to join?
It's so good to hear this is what he wanted to do. My son did as well. He was in aerospace camp for 2 weeks one summer and they talked about the Civil Air Patrol. He joined that and soon afterwards started high school and joined the AFJROTC. Yea, I think our boys made the right decision. They are being taken care of. They will be fine.

What will your son be doing?
