Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

Ziggyj:I just can't wait!! That would have been so neat!! I don't know if you have a facebook account, but there is a fan page for the RTC, in which they post pictures from all the graduations. So I will be looking for my son when they start working them. What will your son be doing, I can see if I can spot him and copy pics for you if I do.
He hasnt' said what he'll be doing yet. The two boys we chatted with were flag bearers and one worked with awards. I have been looking at the facebook page- great pictures. The boys said that they switch over to blues on OCt. 3, so our boys will be in blues. That was always one of my favorites when my husband was still active duty!
This is a link from one of the other PIR sites for tshirts. It looks like we can order them and wear them to the meet and greet. I could easily bring nametags if we need someone to do that!

ziggyj - what a great thing to meet those Sailors. Timing is everything and you were definitely in that place at that time for a reason.
Ziggyi - when did you meet those sailors? What a great opportunity. I think I'm going to go online and order a t-shirt for me and my son's gf today. Not sure my hubby will want one, but I'll ask!
We were on our way to New York City for what my friend called a "empty nest moon". HA. It was awesome, we'd never been before, so it was great. We were waiting for our flight and they were just sitting there! One had bought himself a new laptop, so they were playing on that. I'm not sure if your son is a grad and go- but they parents got to go into the airport and wait at the gate with him. Maybe it's a deal they make with the Navy?? My son wrote yesterday- said he's doing great. He had his wisdom teeth pulled, so said that was a bummer. I told his friend who leaves in December and he FREAKED. Said he still has his teeth too! lol.
Diana - do you want me to make mname tags for the meet and greet? I would be happy to make up some and bring them with.
Trav also said he is going to try to reclassify into a new job. He really wants to go to sea and he thinks he'll have a better chance in another rate. It will be interesting to see what happens and so weird to think that we have NO input whats so ever. All of a sudden- he's all grown up!
If you don't mind making the name tags that would be awesome.
Not at all- how many should I bring along do you think? 50 or so? And we're starting out at the Ramada right- I can't wait!!!
I read that you ordered your shirts- Did you get black?
I did get black. They said if you ordered the gray then you wouldn't get it before graduation...
Liz- thanks for the update on what they are doing. I didn't have enough time to ask about that stuff. By the time he got me on the phone he only had about 4 minutes left. All I wanted to hear then was if he was ok - yes, how he was mentally - great, and did he pass all his tests - yes. After that I heard someone in the background telling them it was time to go. I'll take it!
I got a phone call today also! I was so thrilled to hear his voice. I was fortunate enough to talk to him for about 25 minutes. He said he didn't have to have his wisdom teeth out (thank goodness). The shots were awful. He is passing inspections and tests. The food is good. He doesn't know what his "job" for PIR will be but he is hoping for Honor Guard. He sounded so good. At the end when we said goodbye it was a little emotional but he is so strong. His birthday is Sunday so I feel so blessed that I was able to wish him a Happy Birthday! Gosh I miss that kid so much.
