Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

We got a call last night too! It was so so great to talk to our son and he sounded good too. He had his wisdom teeth out last week and had twisted his ankle but was doing great. He said that he was coming out of medical for one last check on his ankle and he saw the division getting ready to make phone calls and he freaked out because he thought he would miss it, so he ran across somewhere he wasn't supposed to. He said the chief was SO mad and he was afraid he wouldn't get to call- WHEW. Funny too- we were supposed to go to a BBQ and then at the last minute decided not to go and we would have MISSED it. My mom always says things have a way of working out!
Isn't it great how things work out! I was the same way when I got my call Friday night. I was supposed to meet a friend for drinks after work, but had a bad day so decided to cancel. Then my husband asked if I wanted to meet him and some of the guys at our favorite Friday hangout, I almost said yes but didn't. So there I was sitting in the kitchen paying bills and the phone rings - it's HIM!!!!! He only had a few minutes to talk since he had tried his gf first (of course lol) and she didn't answer so then he called me. I was so happy I was there to answer his call and hear his voice. I think we both needed it! Things happen for a reason....
I miss mine too Lori. I thought that it would get a little better- but our house is suddenly so QUIET. Its taking longer than I thought it would!
For those in this group who have ordered or plan to order ribbons from me to wear to PIR please let me know if you SR is in the band or in the choir. If they are I will add a music note to the ribbon, no extra charge. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. :-)
My son wrote letters to both of his Grandmas. They were both so thrilled. This is the same boy I had to threaten with harm to get him to write his graduation thank-you notes. :)
This made me laugh. My son was the same way, I wouldn't let him have any of his grad gifts until all the thank you notes were written. Now, he has written something to his brother, sister, grandma, me, dad, a couple of friends. Got to love these guys.
I am SO SO SO upset and bummed out!!!!!!! :( My new job started and I am at the old office closing out the books, etc. I had a guy from the new job in my office while we were going over things. My phone rang 4 times in a row, but I did't answer because he was there. Later checked my message and it was my FIRST phone call from Brandon. He sounded SO bummed out (from me not answering) and tired ... He said he would try ro call back. Of course he didn't. Probably couldn't. I cried, I am so upset. I think we BOTH needed to hear each other's voice. WORK!!!!!,
I am so sorry :(
I am so sorry. I'll keep my fingers crossed he gets another call soon. Hang in there!
I'm so sorry to hear you missed the call yesterday. On the bright side - if you can call it one - is now you have his voice on your phone. It may sound down, but you know he's ok and that's what is most important. Not much of a consolation I know...... :-(
Ok 952 ladies....where are we? What have we been doing? Any news from our boys? Last I heard was from my son in a quick call on Friday. Hoping for a letter - even if it's just the questionnaire - soon. Have any of you ordered the ribbons or t-shirts yet? I have on both counts....can't wait to show the 952 pride.

So come on....your turn....spill..... :-)

PS - My guess is we are all just as busy as our recruits! lol
I have NONE of that done. :( Finishing up the merger is taking all my time. What is the questionnaire people refer to? I am wondering how Brandon did getting 4 wisdom teeth and 4 molars pulled. :(
