While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

How is the pillow case making going? I have a little time between now and Halloween. I could make a half dozen or so if you still need them. Let me know and please let me know where to send them.

Hi, at this stage of the game, how are the pillowcases coming along? I just joined, is there anything I can do to help? My son is an AO and had I been involved with N4M from the start of the project I would have helped, but please tell me of anything I can do now. Sincerely, a Christmas wish.

if you sew, make pillowcases, if not, and you can contribute to someone who does sew, please do!If you cannot contribute personally,have a fund raiser...But if you can sew, that is great...LOL

I am not sure, but think only half the ship is committed for pillowcases. It has been hard to get a count. So sewing is good.

I second the question! Also, is it any material? Or are you using fleece of any particular kind, like favorite likings of sailors you know and what about those sailors you don't know?

the pc instructions are posted in this room, the pillowcase for Abraham Lincoln room and Heads at Ease room. I wrote them in Jan 2009 and a couple of others have teaked them a bit.
We use cottons or cotton/poly blends. Fleece is too bulky to mail. Flannel is good, but is also bulkier to mail.
Here's a photo of some that have been sent recently to wounded marines and Seabees in the sandbox:

Ladies, This is an official announcement that Heads at Ease is taking over the USS Abraham Lincoln pillowcase project. I was contacted yesterday by the VP of the ALFA group and asked to head it up.
I spent 2 hours on a conference call last night and have agreed to do it. As far as HAE is concerned, we won't be making a ton extra, but will oversee the coordination of the project. We have done this many times and have the experience.
There are many details to yet be decided, but know that HAE is now on the project and we will see it thru.
DO NOT MAIL anything until you hear from me! All dates and addresses are OFF. I can not stress that enough.
What I do need for you to do if you are sewing for the Lincoln, is to email Maryellen with the unit information you are working on and how many you have made. Her email address is: mepeller@bellsouth.net.
And if you haven't gotten involved as yet, we need you to do so. I believe that we are short by 2,000 or more pcs, but won't know until you check in with Maryellen. This is a Lincoln mom project and we need help to make sure that your sailor receives a pillowcase.
