For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I sent out 2 letters today. I'm not sure why today seemed to be such a hard day. I should be feeling better as we are starting to near the end. Just being a mom (worrier) I guess.

Lori - you will worry about your son for the rest of your life. It's part of being a mom. If it helps the letter I sent my son was twice as long as the usual one I send each day. And then when I was done and it was in the mail, I wanted to send another one...... Maybe it's just because we are half way there, and I for one, am still itching for information! So celebrate being a mom - it's what we do.....

Don't feel like the lone ranger. I sent my son 3 letters Monday. After I sealed them up I just kept thinking of more I wanted to tell him or ask him. And I printed pictures to send although I'm sure he'd rather have one of his girlfriend than his Mom and stepdad....but hey that's all I had.

I am feeling sad today too! I thought it was supposed to get easier?? Last night I just turned on the digital picture frame and had a cry. What in the heck is wrong with me?? Our house is just so... quiet. I'm not glad you're feeling that way too, but am glad that I'm not the only one!

I am sending my son a 2 page letter plus a home made card my daughter made for him and had the Junior girls at the American Legion sign and I had a few neighbors sign it also. He will get a kick out of it I am sure.... Soon it will be time to pack and get our parking passes. I am getting real excited as the days are moving faster. I think it is cause I believe the hardest part has past for them and I am feeling a little better about him being O.K.

Oh, you are not alone. I am having a hard time too. I try and write really upbeat, positive and encouraging letters. I tell him he is more than halfway....
But there are times I just cry. I am divorced, the house is just too quiet now.
I think of the times I got tired picking up the empty pizza box from the counter and put it in the trash that is 3 inches away; the times I would tell him to "tur that music down!" I think I liked it the way it was before. :(
Tomorrow is another day, but tonight I am homesick...and I am the one at home.
I missed his call (at work), and he missed a chance when he was on bedrest 2 days. I just need to hear his voice I guess. -

One of my son's friends, who leaves for BC in December, said I should turn his video game on really loud in the basement and then yell down the stairs " Will you guys turn down your violent video games?" like I always used to! HA I liked it the way before too- BUT I know how great he'll be in the Navy and how proud I am of him.

I received a letter from my son today. Sounded kind of down he says he gets yelled at a lot. Next week is hell week have lots of tests they have to pass to graduate on time. I think he is stressing real bad. We did not get refundable tickets. I really thought he would do fine and no need to worry but now I am worried. He is happy they get to wear Dress Blues for Grad. Says he has shine splints that hurt real bad not reporting it cause they could hold him back a week or so. Now I am feeling guilty for not getting refundable tickets:( Am I a bad mom or what:( So sorry.......

I got a letter as well yesterday, this is three since Friday and I feel so happy about it. Mon from St. Pete- you are a wonderful mom. You've given your son every opportunity and the backbone and will to succeed. You can tell that he is ready for the next step since he doesn't want to be held back a week. I'm sure he's doing fine, I know mine is doing fine, Lori's is doing fine, ALL are doing fine - but we do worry....It's part of who we are..... My son didn't say anything about hell week - what does that entail?
