OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

oh my goodness! How scary!! you are right, if I receive a call, especially during the week, I'll be a mess....glad to hear your boy is ok though!!! Hope this flu isn't bad!! I hate to think of any of them having to deal with being sick and doing basic all at the same time!

My oldest was in boot camp this time last year and EVERYONE got sick. He made the mistake of not going to medical right away and ended up with pneumonia. Fortunately he passed the run and the rest of the physical test but he told Lucas that if he gets sick he should go to medical right away and not let it go. I also had Lucas taking a supplement to boost his immune system before he went. Hopefully it pays off.

Emily (Nate's fiance) and I received real letters today! Nate says that that he will be carrying one of the flags in front of his division at graduation. Does anyone know how they are chosen for this? Or is it just another you have blue eyes or your younger or your older or you slept last night or some other non-reason reason?

Not me, not yet....waiting patiently..but I understand it could be next week before we get one....many are saying they can't write till the 3rd Sunday....BOO!! Maybe, they have been very good though and they got to write yesterday!!! Let's hope so!!!

Just wondering where y'all are staying? I'm thinking the Hilton Garden or Marriot Courtyard. Both are 100% smoke free. The Courtyard runs a shuttle $3.00 each way. The Hilton does not.

Hey, not for sure where we will be staying....I just hada meet and greet in TN today, a family who was up there 4 weeks ago for their sons PIR said they stayed at the Spring Hill Suites and they are GREAT!! Could not say enough good about them...I was thinking either there or Hilton Garden or the Hotel Indigo(my hubby is in the Holiday inn rewards program and they are with Holiday Inn)....I think we will drive to the base...we are taking g-parents and lots of kids and I've heard most of the shuttles are like vans or mini vans that carry like 8 people tops, and rather than us getting seperated, we'll probably drive ourselves--Michael's dad and I are divorced, so I have my hubby and 2 kids going, he has his wife and 4 kids going, then a GF and grandparents....we're hoping the others not on the list will still get to go in!

Spring Hill is a great option. I forgot about it. I just want where ever we stay to be smoke free. I read somewhere suggesting parking the car near the base the night before and taking the shuttle. We'll have to figure things out when we get. There is only going to be three of us -- Emily (my son's fiance), my sister and me. It's my understanding that those on the list have to be seated first, then they let the others in. Don't hold me to that though. As much as fantastic I know that PIR is going to be, the thought of being in Chicago in December is yuck! Emily and I are in North Carolina and my sister is coming from Houston. So we will all be freezing! But it will be soooo worth it!

A friend's sister moved to Chicago a few years ago. In February Sherri received a call from her. "It's 1! What's 1?!?!?!" "What??" Sherri asked. "It's 1! What's 1??? There's 10 degrees, there's 5 degrees, but what is 1???" We southern girls just do not handle cold weather very well!! At least PIR is inside. But it could be out on the lake and I would not miss it! :)
