Division 369 & 370 - Wednesday, November 10
How did you find this out? Still have not heard from my son so kind of out of the loop so to speak as far as things going on. So happy that you posted this. Thanks so much. Funny thing for us is that we are planning to leave to head up to Chicago on 11/10. We will be on the road driving up that way. Do you know when they start and end approximately? I will have to make certain to make sure my phone is charged.
Thanks again! Gwen Div. 370
One of the other mom's posted that she got the date from her recruit. I believe they start at 7 or 8pm and run for 12 hours.
Eve - You're driving from Florida?!?!? What part? I live south of Sarasota and plan to fly into Midway....
Sorry to butt in, I'm in Port Charlotte Fl PIR 11/12 ship 11 division366
No way! Im in North Port! What div is your recruit in?
Division 366, my daughter is a grad and go, how about your recruit?
Hi! I live in SC, but am on business in Orlando the week of graduation and have to leave my client project, fly to PIR Thursday night and return Friday to Orlando Friday night. I am looking at flights into Midway (Air Trans), but have never flown AT and don't know how far/convenient Midway is to the base. Can you assist?

Thanks so much!
I'm flying AirTran to Midway from Sarasota. I and my son have flown AirTran many times and haven't found it to be any different than other airlines. Midway is about 25 miles further south than O'Hare but it appears to be easier to get in and out of than O'Hare does. And if you are flying in or out close to rush hour I would think Midway would be the better bet.

Hope this helps!
RyanO: Midway is just a bit further than OHare from the base. If I had to guess, I would say 45 min to an hour away. OHare is about 30 minutes away. Many of the sailors fly from Midway so it is doable! Are you renting a car? Probably the cheapest way to get to/from the base and your hotel.
I agree with the car rental. When I called to see how much a taxi or van would be from the airport to the hotel it was about $90 one way, and the car rental is just a bit more. Granted you have to pay for gas but you have the freedom to go places if you wanted to....
@RyanO Sailor mom Im flying out of ORL too on the 10th I think Im going on AirTran too. We are flying in at Midway but we rented a car so we could leave the airport and got a hotel close to the base
