I am off of work as of today! YES!! I tried to make sure i had my cell in my hands at all times, but I realized during my performance appraisal, it was at my desk. I cannot tell you how much I wanted to jump up and say...sorry, gotta go grab my phone. I refrained and as we all know, no calls yet. Whew. Tomorrow is filled with laundry, packing and errands for our departure on Thursday. Hey, has anyone watched this?:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jibm7kyIGcM
Interesting.
Ha Ha Ha! Thank you! I am missing my "baby swiss" especially today!
The weather is expected to be sunny and pleasant in the 50s on thursday and friday. Does anyone have any questions on where to go or eat in the area? I'm a life long and proud resident of Chicago!
Pizza -- Lou Malnatis! No questions! HANDS DOWN! Ask anyone in Chi! Order it deep dish, requires knife and fork to eat. You can order to your room. some locations have dine-in, but their can be a long wait!

Portillos! another chicago MUST. hot dogs, hamburgers, beefs...they have many locations!

Metra is easy...hoop on and an hour later you are in the city. A weekend pass is like 6$. Pick up or print out a schedule online.

Driving on the highway can be rough....most chicago drivers are aggressive. On the highway, only be in the left lane if you plan to keep up with speed. Ask your rental car company if your car comes w an IPASS...if not tolls are double for non-IPASS users and the lines can get long!
also. google Woodfield mall. Schaumburg has one of the largest malls and tons of places to eat. Also, Gameworks is near by!
Thanks for the great info. That deep dish pizza sounds YUMMY!!!
Okay, what's a refrigerator board?
great information on Chicago thanks. I have another question if you dont mind. We get in around noon to chicago and are planning to drive directly to Great Lakes Is the traffic going to be horrible at that time also or just the commute times? And is the IPAss for driving in a commute lane or are some roads toll? thanks for the help We are so excited!
The traffic on 294/94, the tollway to GL is not that bad. It may get a little heavy from 5-630p. But still not that bad. The tolls are on 294/94. We don't have commute lanes in chiland. If u do plan on driving a lot, its best to have a GPS. BUT make sure u follow and read the signs very close around ohare to get to 294.
We are flying into midway. How's that commute? Thanks for all the info!!!
Save room for Chicago Style pizza it is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
A commute from midway will be long. What time do u arrive? For future, I always tell ppl, unless ur goin to the south suburbs or city...the money u save by flying Southwest is NOT worth the hassle and time it takes goin to and from midway. Just want to be honest..
