No speeding in any construction zones.....u WILL get pulled over and get a 350$ fine.
Oh, texting and driving is illegal in Illinois. As is using a cell phone in the city of chi or construction zone...it must be a hands free device
Ouch, ough. We get in at 530. I figure we'll get to hotel around 8pm. An hr to get rental n out if airport n an hour n a half to two hr drive with traffic.8-830.
Thanks for the great information We have a GPS we are taking we just live in little san diego and have not really been to a big city in years. We are really looking forward to the trip. I might get a bit cold though 50 degrees sounds fridged to me guess I have thin blood now. My son will have to get a winter coat there since they dont make them here warm enough for cold weather. plus all he wore here was a plaid type shirt for a jacket. lol Really appreciate the help and advice it will really come in handy.
The Navy doesn't supply them with a coat? They have to stay in uniform this weekend----
Hee,hee, tsmom, if you can't do it, not sure there's any hope for the rest of us. I always pack too much! I hadn't flown since before 911 and my hubby insisted we were only taking carry on's no checked baggage, period. Those stupid 3 oz bottles drove me to tears the night before we left for PIR.. literally had me a good ole-new Navy Mom, I don't care what we have to check, I'm going to see my son, I need to get some sleep and I don't want to cram every toiletry and med I have in a quart sized ziplock-meltdown!! LOL. Hubby took pity and relented. Thank God Southwest doesn't charge to check your extra bag! :-)

Ladies, don't forget you can pack more if you roll all the clothing items and stick smaller items, like underthings and stockings in your shoes! Most Hotels have irons and laundry facilities. There's my problem, I can NEVER pack just a single pair of shoes to go with everything, I end up with outfits that need different ones!

However, you should see what I can fit into a USPS priority flat rate box!! Pair of size 11 sneakers, t shirts, workout shorts AND a pair of jeans...NO problem!! :)
Btw: rather than trying to make the Group M and G after you all get together..,just a thought, those of you arriving earlier might all want to plan to go ahead and go to your PIR M and G first (I assume one is planned) and meet the others (and their families) that you've been chatting with on the main wall. Maybe have some dinner and hang around until about 7:30 or 8, to give the later arriving 823's a chance to get there and settled, then meet up with you. Then, you all can follow each other to the Div "afterparty" at whoever's hotel/room. :)
What??? $338!! My son said he got the whole package too and just said it was expensive. He didn't say it was a small fortune.
I remember this post too. At least you've started packing... I haven't even started!!
823 are done they are all sailors the calls are going to start coming in, they did great and had a high score to match the best at bootcamp !!!
Got my call!! I love my sailor!! Hope everyone who hasn't been called yet, gets one soon. God bless them all.
they went a day early they were suppose to go tonight and it got pushed up at the last moment yippee!! they are all sailors Can you tell I am super excited
