Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

Machinest Mate. Ironically that is what I was when I was in the Navy.
The apple doesn't fall far they say! :-)
Got a letter today!!! My guy is doing fine, although he has an ear infection...but to quote him..."I'm on meds DONT WORRY" Who me? Worry? The letter was dated 10/24 Week 4 Day 5. Like Liz said earlier, 952 has officially earned all of their flags, and if they do well enough on their tests they will make the Hall of Fame! Our guys have really bonded into a great team! It's no wonder they were picked for this special division.

BTW - an independent division is one that doesn't have a "brother division" or a division to train with.
Wow the news about our Div is so great!!! I am so happy... I have been stressing wondering if my son was going to do good or not. I have not heard from him in a while. Praying maybe I get a letter tomorrow from him. This news is so good for all of us. I can't wait for PIR to get here. My son may get to greet people when they arrive or else seat people. So I might get to see him right away. If so that would be fantastic!!!! Come on Nov. 12...... Go Div 952 make us all proud...
I can't wait either!
Got a letter yesterday, he says they are doing well. I don't know if I will recognize him, he left here a size large, and is now a medium, and he was already skinny enough. He described the division flag for me: "The flag is a skull with our RDC's collar devices on it, a cutlass underneath, and the words Sink Their Bones to Davy Jones." I decided to light a candle for them while they do the "gas chamber".
Tammy, my SR designed the flag; he sent me a sketch, I'll upload it so you can see it- it's pretty awesome, he is so talented!!!

I haven't told my SR that I've seen it yet....but I can see it being his first tattoo! And I absolutely love it!!!
Thank you Heather!! It is so AWESOME!!! Your Andrew is VERY talented!! Make sure you tell him thank you!!
You're welcome, I love being able to share it with you ladies! Hopefully I can tell him that we all love it when they get to call home- I'm really hoping that's going to be today or sometime this weekend!
Me too, I was a little perturbed last weekend when the other divisions got to call, I was happy for them because I know how happy I was when he got to call home the first time but I want another call!! Haha, especially when their division is doing so well- we know they have earned it! Maybe today though, I'm praying!!
I just keep thinking that we aren't getting calls becuase our guys have double duty - not only are they doing the normal boot camp stuff, they also have to learn the special requirements of being in a 900 division. That's what keeps me going - But like you guys I am hoping for a call tonight!!! In fact last weekend I forwarded my house phone to my cell phone just in case....I refuse to miss a call!
